I get the impression that you want a representative from every state to check in. Zsofia lives in South Carolina and is an active member. The only reason I listed her name is that it might make it easier for her to spot the thread when doing a search. There are quite a few New Hampshire Dopers as well. Most of the others are pretty easy too except for that South Dakota thing.

Eh, the wilderness is great, but it’s a bit dry and UV heavy for my comfort, and I grew up in the most densely populated state of the union. When you go from “center city Philadelphia twenty minutes away, Manhattan about two hours, and DC about two and a half hours” to “Er, well, Albuquerque is an hour away and Denver is six hours away”, it’s kind of…dull.

Maybe it was when you were growing up, but it’s tenth now. NJ is about four times the density, and DC is nearly 40.

As for the wilderness being too dry, you do realize there is a rainforest just southeast of Cuba right? Rains every day in the summer.

Southeast of Cuba is Haiti and the Dominican Republic. I don’t think that anyone should be forced to leave the U.S. just to get away from New Mexico. There are other, better, options even if it means taking drastic measures to go into exile in New Jersey.
