A friendly game of Mornington Crescent

With Kentish Town West played and Quarters in countdown, I am going to rush over to Willesdon Junction to try to open things back up again. This might be introducing too much chaos at this point, but I am trying to emulate Tiffton’s (early) playstyle a bit.

I’m sticking to Threepwood’s. It looks like it’s working as no one’s
posted for 2 days now ..
Ok. Let’s put the cat among the can of worms with ..

King’s Cross & St. Pancras International.

Ah, you just must appreciate the sheer chutzpah of an august MC Master to deploy a malaphor at the mission critical stage of the game.

As the sacred cows have obviously come home to roost with a vengeance, I’m playing Caledonian Road to set up a dinky run to Camden and glory.

So Gospel Oak it shall be, and not for lack of faith! Looks like a tiny step in the wrong direction, but allows a jumping redirection invoquing again the Whereas Clause 7 (b) iii of the third post-conciliar Carolingian Amendment (it sounded better in Latin, granted, but such are the times).

Right. I’m going to invoke Carruthers’s high-relevance gambit as used
by the great @Novelty_Bobble and call …

Mornington Crescent

Thank you for you attention to this matter.

Oh, well done.
It’s been coming for a while but I, amongst others, couldn’t nail the opportunities as presented.
That’d be right up there with the best recoveries from Nid I have played against.
Salute

I knew I should have blocked… aw, never mind. Well played, sir! You got to take your chances when the oponents present them to you on a plate.
Time to gift my remaining tokens to charity.

Huh. Looks like Tiffton let me down. In hindsight, I should have reviewed the finals of the New Dehli Invitational 1972, and maybe I would have seen that Carruthers move coming.

Thanks all.
It was a good game; I’m quite proud of the fact that I used my nidment
to my advantage - without it I would probably have created a zonal
occlusion between Green Park and Gloucester Road which would have
lasted for at least 8 moves.
See you all in another 2 years.
