A frog and a bear, seeing america

Though I’ve been on the road just shy of a week and I’m a third of the way across the U.S. my cross-country trip really begins tomorrow. My friend and I left Vermont last saturday and have been in Michigan for the last few days doing yardwork for his parents in exchange for good food and gas money. In two weeks we’ll be in our new home, Bellingham WA, but not before exploring some of the land between here and there.

Tomorrow we head to Chicago IL to check out the city and visit a friend from school. We’ll crash at her place then hit the road in search of things worth seeing and stuff worth doing. Our route will take us to Mt Rushmore, the Rocky Mountains, the Four Corners area, and most of the Pacific Coast Highway. We bought a cheap tent yesterday and plan to set up camp where we can. To finalize our camping supplies we’ll have to pick up some cookware and tiki torches in the next couple days. Though our basic rote is planned we’ll mostly fly by the seat of our pants. There’ll be many stories I can’t share on the boards but when I have one that’s sdmb-appropriate I’ll try to send an update of our travels. Peace and love,

Movin’ right along …
Footloose and fancy free!
Getting there is half the fun.
Come share it with me.

“Bear left.”

“Right frog.”

And just remember – look for the fork in the road.

That sign says we just left Rhode Island…

Dum, dum, dum

Movin’ right along!
