A half century gone. A very early MMP

How low of an alto are you? The fact that you can handle a harmony part means you’re probably a baritone, but if your voice is really low, then you’d be a bass. You should by all means join your local chapter. (Where is local for you?)

I’ve always sung harmony, making my own up from time to time. In school I was a 2nd alto, occasionally singing the male tenor line, since there were so few of them. I am a bass with SA, but every now and then, I’ll sneak over to the bari part, much to the chagrin of the bass section leader.

Spaz - that’s a cute card - I especially like the exhausted puffs and pants at the end
Dinner was marvelous. Friend put out a spread to feed a third world country. We started with Brooklyn’s best challah, and Maneschewits Concord Grape wind, then gefilte fish and stuffed cabbage, then there was brisket & grave and turkey & gravy and roast chicken, with mashed potatoes, tsimis, barley with mushroom, string beans almondine, cole slaw, cranberry compote, and potato kugel. And ruglach, babka, and cookies for dessert. And they put a candle in a Mallowmar and sung happy birthday to me.
We laughed and talked all through dinner, and sang Allan Sherman songs, and told jokes, and since most of them were related to each other, there was a lot of reminiscing. Even their cat joined in the fun. But now I am too stuffed to go to bed.
sigh

Whew! Dinner is going to be late tonight! Work was long, the commute was long, then I had to stop at the grocery store.

I’m tired and don’t even feel like eating, but the rest of the family does.

The noodle/pineapple dish sounds interesting. Is it oversweet though?

Not that this is a sweet dish, but my mother used to take leftover spaetzle and layer it in baking dish with swiss and ementhaler cheeses, and sauteed (carmalized really) diced onions. The top layer was always the cheese/onion mix.

Then she’d bake it in the oven for enough time to warm everything up and melt the cheeses. It was very tasty. If I wasn’t too lazy to pull out my spaetzle press and make the spaetzle dough, and cook it, I’d make some.

I came home to find both the kids completely crashed.

Both the kids and my husband have severe colds. I have posted the ‘Stay Away’ sign. I do not want to catch this crud, but I’m sure I’ll come down with it. I don’t know how I’ve avoided it this long.

Bloody. Trying again.

Work was long, even though it was short. Going to bed very soon.

I am not a fan of sweets at all, and I find the dish very nice. It’s only 8 oz of pineapple and 1/2 cup sugar for a whole pan of eggs and noodles.

Blurg.

Sleepytime.

No kugel to be found in my CD drive. That’s probably a good thing, though… it would gum up the works pretty badly, all things considered.

Long day. More tomorrow.

rosie, that sounds like a really fun evening. But I have to say I can’t stand Manechevitz. Bleah. I think I’d have to consume a good amount of something else before I’d think about drinking that stuff! My apologies to any and all who love the stuff, of course, especiallly any Jewish ancestors of mine (on my dad’s side, so Not A Jew myself). Think about it, I’m leaving more for you!

looks with purely mock disdain on the altos, being a soprano with a couple of years of lessons under her belt, even if those couple of years were several years ago

Morning all. It’s Eid!!! Yayyyyy!!! No work until next Sunday!!! Double Yayyyyy!!! Okay, I think that’s enough exclamation marks now. So …

Eid Mubarak to all of you, and Shana Tova as well!

And now I must run off and stop HRH cleaning the floor with her milk!

Zoooommmmmm!

Mmmm… Rugelach. Chocolate?

Yeah. Pass the rugelach.

Morning. It’s early. It’s still dark out. If it’s dark, does that mean it’s still last night?

Oops - I forgot!

Happy Almost 50th Birthday Rosie!!!

MIL is true to form today. Eid is all about new clothes, especially for kids, so I bought HRH a nice little pink dress (hot pink, sleeveless, zip-up, with a matching belt - very cute). MIL however decided that she didn’t like it and promptly took HRH off to the bedroom and changed her into a different dress that she had bought. Sigh … apparently, I am so useless that I am incapable of buying my daughter clothes. Next time, I will deposit my daughter stark naked at their house and let them sort it all out!

~HAPPY BIRTHDAY, rosie!!!~

Glad to hear dinner was so much fun. Food sounds delish.

Thanks for the recipe, Soapy! Sounds yummy.

Please use this wet trout to wish MIL Eid Mubarak from me, Dotty.

I’m tired, although I slept a bit better last night. Off to find breakfast, make NOL and generally get ready for work.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Apparently one cannot post in all caps. HMMMMMM…

Anywho, happy day!

Off to get some more caffiene and then to work.

Eid Mubarak Dotty!

Darn it, I hate when I wake up and can’t get back to sleep when I don’t have to get up early or anything!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSIE!

Eid Mubarak, Dotty!

One more time, with style…
~Happy Birthday Rosie!!!~

Dearest Rosie,

I wish you a happy birthday.

Please continue…

:vrroooommmmm:

Happy buffday, Rosie!

:vroooommmmmm:

Firstly …

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSIE!!!

Then Eid Mubarak and Shana Tova to those who celebrate.

Glad that it’s Tuesday–yesterday’s afternoon ride home did not go well. The bus riders ended up walking down to the road because the guards wouldn’t let the shuttlebus onto the complex–this was after sitting and waiting for it for 30 minutes. So I was way late getting home. Ah well, hopefully it will be better today, although all the announcements said the shuttle would be running every 30 minutes, it’s only running once an hour.

My tummy hurts …:stuck_out_tongue: Now that -may- be from eating (raw) cookie dough, I don’t know.

HappY BirthdaY RosiE
Haven’t read up, so I have no idea what is it Jews are celebrating, but whatever it is, may you celebrate it well. Still busy. Using laptop under Heboss’ orders, he said to redirect to him anybody who yells at me for not using the client-provided slowpoke computer. Back to reordering pools and lanes, which is less fun than it sounds.

OK the heathen in the crowd with no home training wants to say Eid Mubarak.

But I don’t know if I am saying it right…

Morning all. Lissa I linked to your blog and saw the Mumpers Recipes - lovely idea! I really liked it. I did see the dress and liked it but I need to wake up and put my eyes in to appreciate it. It is a skill I do not possess and I am envious.
