So, MBG, is it over?
Awake. But getting sleepy. Yay!
So, MBG, is it over?
Awake. But getting sleepy. Yay!
And will it be back? Ever?
Still sick, mostly just the cough and fatigue left, I am as weak as a kitten (no, it’s not cute and there will be no photos!) I get the good cough syrup in the morning though, so hopefully I will be better before the weekend.
Still brain dead though, let’s see, Happy Rebos anniversary, something about it’s all over, rinse and repeat, someone is gonna be entombed in ice…picu if I was there I would road trip with you. Sequim is beautiful, I love the peninsula, and Woodinville used to be beautiful too, but I hear that it is all grown up now. I remember when it was just a few houses with lots of woods. You wanna know something mundane and pointless? I miss the trees from home. Douglas Fir, Cedar, Hemlock (my favorite!), alder trees which grew up straight and tall, here they are shrubby, and all of the flowering trees. I miss forsythia, it will grow here, but never bloom due to the day length. I miss fruiting trees and berries. We have berries here, but not blackberries, thimbleberries, huckleberries, and all the variations on the loganberry/marionberry. I miss holly trees and weeping willows.
I tool my nyquil and a nice hot shower, I smell of lilacs and there is a lavender sachet on my pillow. Perhaps my rambling nostalgia will lend itself to pleasant dreams. Nighty nite!
I wanted to start a whole thread about this story, but due to the nature of where I work and my uptight concern for patient confidentiality I’ll share it with you guys. It’s sort of more low-key that way.
A warning, it’s a SFW article out of the Boston Globe, but it’s a nightmare of a medical story. Do not read if you are expecting soon, or don’t like medical horror stories in general.
:: Returns to night shift duties ::
I’m awake. Guess I should get ready for my conference call this morning. And maybe generally get ready for work.
GT
I’m awake too. Too bad my computer is still having tantrums. I’ve got to hold one side of it together tightly in order to make a connection. Just give me a vise grip and I’ll be all set!
And so, I guess I’ll never know the end. As I clicked on the final page, it told me that I needed to register in order to continue reading.
Do you really work for the Boston Globe, beebs? ![]()
Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here.
MCUNE, let’s see, you cook, you clean, you’ll go buy groceries… yeah, sure, c’mon down!
It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!! Hate to tell ya this MBG but I was just outside and it’s all still there.
Happy Hump Day Everybody!!!
Up here.
Happy late Rebos anniversary! Somehow I missed that last night.
I’m making cupcakes for the girls’ parties that are tomorrow today. I don’t know who in the school system thought it was a good idea to have a half day tomorrow, so they have to have their parties in the morning, and I get to truck back to the school a few hours later for conferences.
The little guy has been resisting sleep. I feel like we’re back to age one three years later. I’s tiherd!
Up and caffeinating - we’re on a two hour delayed arrival this morning, fortunately. So I am going in, just later.
BBS2K, that was a very frightening article, but thanks for posting the link to it (I was able to read it all w/o registering, btw, although at one point, it closed up my IE!). That poor woman.
Happy Hump day, everyone - one more day closer to Firday.
Yesterday we were working on making some cookie dough, but those of us who were delivering didn’t have time to scoop it out before we left. My employee who wasn’t delivering couldn’t be bothered to sit on her butt and scoop it out before she went home. This would have made it about 10 times more difficult for us to do it today after it was refrigerated. Instead, she actually gave my dad her car keys and had him pull her van around for her so that she could leave.
I just came in this morning to find that not only did she not scoop out the cookie dough, she also never attempted to put it in the fridge or ask someone else to do it for her. It’s still sitting at the mixer.
Almost 400 cookies worth of dough that I have to throw away.
And I’m so mad that I’m sitting here crying over cookie dough.
What a waste.
Up and caffeinated. Long day ahead.
Oh, that’s is so lazy, Pie! If she worked for me I’d fire her ass. Bad enough she didn’t scoop, but to waste a whole batch of dough! Hmmph.
Thanks all for the anniversary wishes! It sucks that hubby has to work nights, but he did get to come home for dinner last night.
I forgot to say this yesterday:
It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!! It’s allllll over after tonight!!!
What’s all over after tonight??
Happy Hump Day!
My prediction was a bit off. I said I’d probably have Teh Sick this weekend, after standing outside during the fires; this morning my nose was plugged 6 ways to Sunday when I got out of bed.
Caffeine and brekkie momentarily. Carry on.
“Don’t get mad, get even…”
Dock her next pay-check the consumer-side revenue you would have got from 400 cookies. Plus any additional expenses or damages you can justify. No forewarning – Let her find out when she gets her lowered (zero?) check + a factual, matter-of-fact note explaining it.
Then let her come crying to you
My sixth sense says she won’t outright quit – won’t have anyplace else to go…
Afternoon, all! I took the morning off for a job interview that was a total waste of time. It’s an ok job, nothing spectacular but it’s much closer to home and would knock about a hour each way off my commute. I found out that they’re running two interview panels over two days to recruit five posts - the whole interview was a bit “meh” and I don’t hold out much hope at all. I suspect they have a bunch of internal candidates lined up for it and the rest of us are just there to make up the numbers.
For those that have missed the excitement for the last three or four years, this is the Dead Rat Ball - it’s got nothing to do with dead rats at all, in fact it’s a big charity fancy dress party. The good news is that it’s in Ostende so we get to make a long weekend of it. The theme this year is Samba Carnival but we decided we couldn’t be arsed with that, so we went for hallowe’en instead and are going in a variety of gothic/witchy costumes. Except for 'im indoors who hasn’t decided what he wants to go as yet, so I’m leaving it up to him.
Off to caffeinate and do some work before Tin Knickers throws an epi.
Have you fired her yet?
Still sick- cough, hack, fatigue crud. Almost canceled class yesterday but muddled on instead.
Happy Anniversary Rebosi!
The good news… it snowed here last night! I love the snow, it is so pretty! I love, love, love snow!
Now its raining, sigh. And warming up.
Kids have a delay so we’ll have a lazy morning until I realize we are all of a sudden late and then we’ll scramble around like madmen.
Sounds like a plan.
Stuff like this drives me insane. What are some people thinking!!
Missed my edit window (feckin’ phones) and forgot to wish the Rebos a happy anniversary.
(((((PieKid))))) - I’d be pretty upset about that kind of stupidity and laziness too. If I were you I’d fire her, or dock her wages and see if that makes her buck up a bit.
Get well soon, Kai!
