It’s been a less than wonderful day for several reasons that I don’t feel like going into right now so I won’t… I’m gonna hang up the laptop and read for a while–I have a whole buncha holds at the library I need to pick up so I should git giddlin’ on finishing what I already have!
Sorry I’ve been absent. I was sick, I worked 95 hours last week, and Nelly ran away Wednesday night.

Holy guacamole it’s warm out this morning!! Over 60F at the moment! And wet. And there are a gazillion leaves on the ground that I had de-leafed earlier this week. But I did manage to sleep in till almost 7, so there’s that! And I know the warm won’t last - a front is due thru today, then temps plummet, possibly to the 20s for lows in a few nights. :eek:
Daughter and I are going grocery shopping today for most of what we’ll need for Thanksgiving and the after party. I need to check one recipe while I’m on line to be sure I have everything required. Then I’ll shower and poke the kid with a pointy stick to get her buns in gear. We’ll run to the store first thing, then come home and get back to work in the basement. These final details are taking forever!!
Speaking of the after party, I might see **BibKitty **- she sent a tentative positive RSVP… <fingers crossed>

FCM is right, it’s quite warm for mid-November indeed. That’s okay, though, because the cold is coming in tonight. It’s going to rain all day today, unfortunately; I’ve got several errands to do which will probably get pushed to tomorrow. And yes, I’m going to start Thanksgiving shopping tomorrow too.

It is never a good thing for the boss to call you at 8:08 on a Saturday morning. Especially when he’s not a morning person.
Power outage last night at work is delaying a major release that was supposed to go in this weekend. Now I get to go into work to make sure that everyone who needs to know is informed and that we’ve thought of everything. (We have a bunch of external groups who were affected by this change.)

It’s our monthly dinner out tonight. Dad wants Red Lobster, which I’m thoroughly sick of, but what the hey. It’s his dime, and I don’t have to cook or wash dishes!
Off to take the mutts to the park. Even though it’s freezing out there, with 15-20 mph winds! Ok - 49°. But it’s beautiful and sunny, and they are so insistent.

I just reupped Country Woman and Birds and Blooms subscriptions for mom. She lurves those magazines! Anywho… her bday is in December so those are her birthday present from me for the past several years. I’m such a good son!

It’s cooler than yesterday. Yesterday it rained almost four inches and was warm all day. Today it’ll be mid 60s. Good weather to dig up and transplant palm trees.
