Not only did the pine needles just start to dry out from the last downpour, I have a fire going in the backyard! Nature doesn’t want me to finish raking the back, does it?

All y’all jealous frozen yankees can feel real sorry for me come August…
I have discovered a wonderful thing! I was sanding away with my Ped Egg, trying to get this shoe leather off the bottoms of my feet, when a lightbulb went off over my head!
Yesterday, I was trimming the dog’s toenails with that spinny toenail trimmer thing - the dremel tool thingamabobber? I took off the cover and used it on my feet! It works GREAT!!! In no time I had smooth feet.
Yay!
I think I’ll start an infomercial…
Whew! Talk about being late to the party!
Work has been crazy, and frankly, I’ve just been too tired to really do anything useful when I get home.
So, I skimmed and skimmed, but I haven’t retained too much. Congrats to you taxi, it was well deserved and you shouldn’t feel bad about being recognized at work.
Rebo, you have a lovely yard. I am jealous. Today is the warmest it’s been in months. However, they’re calling for more rain and gusty winds through the weekend.
I’ve seen that bear link before, **Bobbio. ** In fact, I think I sent it off to a lot of people on my e-mail list. It still makes me smile though.
BTW, I think you should set up the hoola girl so it looks like you’re looking at her and start a “conversation” with her whenever a co-worker is near.
I finally…FINALLY, managed to get my hair done. No more gray rootage, thank goodness. I also had the gal cut off a good two inches, not that anyone could really tell. That’s okay, I could tell, because my hair was much better behaved and didn’t take as long to “do” this morning.
Hmm, not too much else going on here. I’m just tired, I guess. Furthermore, I’ve managed to catch a cold and just feel sort of icky anyway. I think I’ll chill for a bit.
Rebo, your gardens are beautiful! And that looks like it took a lot of intensive work–good cardio workout, I guess. LOL Congrats.
Glad to hear that you’re having a great time on your vacation week, Doggio; I only hope that Gordie won’t wear you out before it’s time to go back to work. LOL
I am -so- glad that tomorrow is Firday! No real plans for the weekend either, just ready for it.
I have a new outplacement consultant who is actually going to provide assistance instead of platitudes. My job this week is to research what I want to do with my life and figure out how to pay for retraining. She thinks there will be a lot of money available for training soon, if it isn’t there already. In the meantime, she is going to re-work my resume into a decent framework.
Skunk has cancer, which is what I suspected. The goal is to keep him well-fed and as pain-free as possible until it’s time. How long he has left is undetermined. In the meantime, he will be a very spoiled kitty. (As if he wasn’t already!)
Rebo, I love your garden!
home, tired
tonight was our dress rehearsal for competition to which friends and family were invited. We had an audience of about 25, which was nice. I video taped it and was all set to sit down and upload the video and some of the nicer pics - I put the camera on a pile of papers, which apparently was not all the stable. The camera slid off towards the floor . . .
. . . and disappeared. Completely. Just vanished. I must have a small worm hole in my den.
actually it probably bounced way under the desk and I am in no condition to get down on my knees to look for it, so I will ask Gentlemanly Tenant to come up tomorrow evening and look for it for me.
But weirdness abounds. I check the recyling bin several times. Each time I picked it up, it seemed heavier than it should for what was in there, but each time I completely emptied and refilled it and no camera. I shall be shaking my head in disbelief over this for days
udderandat, hope all is well with every one, and if it isn’t, positive vibes are onn their way
Do be careful… When they first came out, I heard a tale of one of those MacBook Air ultra-thin laptops being chucked out in a pile of newspapers. OUCH!
Yay for the new outplacement consultant, Shadow! Sorry about Skunk, though.
Hope the camera turns up easily, rosie.
Pretty garden, Rebo.
I giggled at your pictures, doggio.
Do I really have to get up already? At least it’s Firday.
GT
Afternoon all. Hubby and I had a joint sleep-in this morning - the first one in about 2 years (hooray for Housework Fairy!!!)! Shopping is done, child is rested, and we are organising to take HRH to see Dan Zanes in concert this afternoon. I hope she enjoys it - I have heard a lot of good things about Dan Zanes, so it should be fun!
cant type. Cortisone in elbow. ow.
will feel better later… sooner?
Wanna borrow my mom? She’s been wanting a trip somewhere. Please try to keep her away from the spicy foodstuffs and from American cakes, ok?
Special for Soapy:
Cura sana,
mal de rana,
si no te curas hoy
te curarás mañana.
(Heal, heal, froggy pain, if today you still don’t heal, by tomorrow you’ll be fine)
Get someone to kiss that elbow better, it’s a required part of the spell.
Mornin’. Blurf.
Need more caffeine…
Love that! Who wants to kiss my elbow?
<Plants smooch on Soapy’s elbow>
All better now?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. It’s Saturday! YAY!!! What? It’s Sattidy for me!
Have I mentioned I have eliminated Monday from my life? The days of the week in swampworld are… Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Firday, Sattidy, Sattidy. See, since I start work on Sunday, that’s not really like Monday cause I usually go to church also, so that makes it Sunday. Monday is supposed to be the first day of the work week for us western types, but Sunday is the first day of my work week, that takes the place of Monday. Thus, I have no Monday and two Sattidys. Genyoose ain’t it!
Other than makin’ copious amounts of cheese thangs, I got no real plans. I might go get a haircut. Da cave is pretty neat so no worries there. Dindin tonight shall be steak, sallit and Those Friggin’ Good N.O.T..
Shadow sorry about Skunk. Yay on the new and improved consultant though.
Rebo loverly garden. You should invite the ladies over for tea and finger sammiches in the garden.
gt an oversupply of three year olds is as skeery as a herd of second graders.
[QUOTE=swampbear;10955413Rebo loverly garden. You should invite the ladies over for tea and finger sammiches in the garden. [/QUOTE]
Fingers in a sammich? EEEWWWWW!
Swamps, did you get the mac’n’cheese made, too?
You outa figger out how to make Mac and Cheese on a stick, and really shock those old ladies…
Happy Firday. In another moment of grrrrr!, I must divulge that I have bambilance duty tonight. The same night as the series finale of Battlestar Galactica, and my partner for the night despises the show for good measure. Harrumph.
Morning, all. The miracle was not exactly repeated. Nat cried on and off from 10:30-12:30. That was not fantastic. After that he slept till 8, which was fantastic, at least for me, but didn’t do Mr. Lissar much good since he has to get up at a completely ungodly and wrong hour.
Nigella Lawson has a recipe for mac’n’cheese as finger food. It’s deep fried ham and cheese fritter/ball things. It can so be finger food!
Hope your elbo is better, Soapy.
Muppet, I was pawing through my fabric stash yesterday, and it occurred to me to ask if you want to do a small (SMALL) fabric swap? Or something? Depends how overloaded your stash is. I can perfectly well just sort out a bunch of stuff you can have, if you want it.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, HALLELUJAH!
Little sister emailed me just this morning to let me know that she’s decided to “postpone” her wedding because of “issues that have come up” that make it obvious that they’re not “in a place to make such a big commitment”. I have no other details as to what happened or just how serious these issues are (though her Facebook status is ). Thank God.*
Now, all I need to believe in God is a surprise bequest of a few million dollars from a long-lost great-uncle and a self-cleaning kitchen.
LiLi, don’t forget mac n’ cheese pancakes a-la-Kenny Shopsin. You can eat those with your fingers too, right? A SMALL fabric swap would be lovely… I think I have some small lengths of really pretty red and black silk that would be right up your alley, and tons of random scraps I bought with the best of intentions that have been sitting neglected for a while. The Boy will be ecstatic (he’s the anti-pack-rat).
Rebo, that’s a gorgeous garden. The poor little frozen mounds of dirt that pass for my garden this time of year are shivering with jealousy right now.
Vundy, as it happens, Mumsy is single. Too bad she’s not fond of torrid, short-term affairs (even though I think a little romance might do wonders for her mental state). Then again, swampus seems to be doing a half-decent job of channeling the nagging parts of Mumsy… so maybe he’ll be a decent substitute?
*In the generic, non-denominational sense of the word.
Happy Firday!!!I’m up and caffeinated. I’m gonna watch the pregame skate this morning, clean up Gordie’s debris(round 3), then go to the game.
: kisses soapy’s elbow : Feel better?
I hope you find your camera, rosie.
Sorry about Skunk, Shadow. Give him an extra skritch for me.
I like the garden, Rebo.
Bwahahaha! That’s awesome.
{{{Skunk and Shadow}}}
I’m jealous of the garden, Rebo! My raised beds are all just waiting for warm weather. Actually they have daffodils and tulips in them so I can’t start planting anything else too early. But it’s still a month or so before the daffodils come up and two months until tulips. I guess I’ll have to live vicariously through you for a while.
Ick… someone’s got overpowering perfume on. I feel bad for the people who sit near her all the time! It’s bad.
Today’s cleaning fairy day at our house. (It’s a once-a-month thing.) I really love cleaning fairy day.
