Evidently there’s a movement to try to get Jeff Goldblum to play The Fly on Pence’s Head for Saturday Night Live. I don’t know if either SNL or Goldblum are interested, but lots of fans are.
David/Al Hedison, who really did say "Help me! Help Me! in the 1957 version of The Fly unfortunately died last year, so you couldn’t get him to do it. (Goldblum, in David Cronenberg’s 1986 remake of The Fly, didn’t say the line)
I think the fly was trying to give an excuse for someone to smack Pence in the head.

So SNL did do the Jeff Goldblum “Fly” thing in their Cold Opening, but they didn’t get Jeff Goldblum. They had Jim Carrey channeling Goldblum (and used a clip from the 1986 The Fly.)
I was impressed at by how quickly they assembled that ersatz telepod.
