A Missing Person Alert

John Glasgow missing since 1.28.08

I don’t know what to say about this.
We don’t know him, but it is in our local area.

There has been much speculation.
Countless hours and effort.

If he isn’t still here in whatever condition, perhaps there’s a chance he might be spotted elsewhere.

His family and friends are hurting, and need relief.

Take a look.
Thanks.

Where was he going? It’s not clear from the link if he was on his way to work or to hike up the mountain.

Petit Jean Mountain is a ways from Little Rock. Also, it’s a flat sort of plateau with some steep drops at the edges. It’s not really dangerous, but I suppose there are some places someone could come to grief.

But I’m not clear on if he was intending to go there or not.

I’ve done lots of hiking on Petit Jean. Since his car was found at Mather Lodge (and Mather is at the trailhead for the hike down to the falls), it seems likely he’s hurt somewhere along that trail? Having done the trail numerous times I can testify there are numerous ways for someone to get hurt or lost. I’ve gotten off the trail and been lost for several hours (ended up climbing up a treacherous slope and found myself within a 100 yards of Mather. Had no idea I was that close). Is the search concentrated there? Or do the officials suspect some other scenario?

Best wishes (and hope) for Mr. Glasgow.

There is so much that isn’t known.
News stories differ, family and friends are confused.

The man is familiar with this area.
I believe the only hit a search dog got was on a trail down below Mather Lodge.
Another supposed sighting by a person was clear across the park to the east side, which really makes no sense.

Unless he had some sort of meltdown, nobody who knew him could believe he would deliberately disappear.
If a victim of crime, or a hiking accident, it may be awhile before he’s found.

I haven’t heard anything from neighbors that hasn’t been on the webpage link above, and arkansasbusiness.com seems to be the only news source that is sticking with the story.

There are some dangerous dropoffs here, and overhanging rocks where an injured person might shelter.

It’s been a hellacious couple of weeks in the area for weather, also. High winds, then cold with small snow amounts, then back to tornado producing storms. If he is still in the area, I don’t see how he could have survived.
Hope that he is found for his family, one way or the other.

OK, from your link, I see that Glasgow is CFO for CDI Contractors. Since his SUV was found unlocked with his laptop and cellphone inside, we can possibly presume he wasn’t intending to go for a hike, espically on a Monday morning, being a busy CFO and all. From this, I can deduce a couple of scenarios:

  1. Some irregularity in his or CDI’s finances or problems at work lead him to panic and disappear.

  2. Someone with a beef with CDI or their financial dealings got him.

The other scenarios one could envision would be him having a mental breakdown or being the victim of violent crime without a financial motive (hence the remaining laptop, etc).

I’m sure detectives have explored these possibilities.

Now off into weirdo territory:

Petit Jean is home to Winrock Farms, owned by Rockerfeller family. CDI Contractors is contractor on the new UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute being built.

Very likely a coincidence, plus I don’t see how it has anything to do with anything, but…

I’m not sure it would have anything to do with why he was on the mountain at that time, as noone from WF or WRI was expecting him. Or why his car was across the other side at the Lodge.

I did see in some news blurb, and was told today that the family was offered and are using a spare house as a base to work from that belongs to either WRI or Lisenne, who is Win Jr.'s widow.

Other than that, only silly rumors that aren’t helpful.

No new rumblings except this article in a local newspaper.

Man. It looks like it’s going to be bad news any way this goes. :frowning:

Yup.

Could go several ways.

Reward increased to $70,000.00. That is the correct number of zeroes.

And now it’s thought he may not have been here, but his car was.
