Dumb idea-making rules that nobody will follow isn’t a good model for a board.
Besides…90+ percent of the problem was solved when Elections was finally created. Used to be that we’d have election discussions in every forum except GQ. Threads like “Urkel was stupid on Family Matters. Bush is STUPID TOO!” in CS, etc.
Elections corralled most of this and the mods have been pretty firm about stopping bullshit drive-by electioneering when they catch it.
Terrible solution in search of a problem that doesn’t exist.
