Back from vacation and had lots of HubbyTime! We were both exhausted 
when we got on our repective planes yesterday 
Had a great time.
Anyway…Monday without an MMP is like Paris without the dog poop!
Wouldn’t that be a good thing whereas a Monday without an MMP is a bad thing? 
Busy weekend here. Friday night I went to a coworker/friend’s house for a not-quite-housewarming girls-only party she was having. I got to meet a couple coworkers who I’ve seen in the halls, and I know their names from exchanged emails, but I’ve never put names and faces together before. So that was good. Really nice new townhouse too. Looks like a picture in a magazine. My still-new townhouse does not.
Saturday we met a different coworker/friend and her husband for Tibetan food and then went to the zoo. She loves animals and he’s into photography so she cooed at all the animals and he took pictures and we all had fun. I think we’ll get together with them again. (This was the first time we’d done anything with them outside of work.)
Sunday our dinner club met for its wrap up pot luck. There were 3 or 4 groups organized through my church. The idea was that everyone in each group would host once and then the groups would switch up and we’d get to know new people. But apparently, even though our group got off to a late start, we’re the only ones to finish. We not only got through the group with everyone hosting once, we had this additional pot luck yesterday. We hosted again and made burgers and brats and everyone brought salads and one person brought a DQ ice cream cake. Good time and great weather.
For us, that’s a busy weekend. I don’t usually schedule something on every day, but it was fun and we still found time to relax too.
A Monday without an MMP is like a sundae without the cherry! (Except that I don’t like cherries and always give them to my husband… but he’d be disappointed in a sundae without a cherry! :p)

I’m exhausted because I went to bed too late, got to work too early, and stayed there too long. But I got a key document done today and handed off to editors. Woot!!!

Hey, thanks for noticing! I’ve returned from my semi-annual Dope hiatus. Nothing makes me appreciate this place more than experiencing what the rest of the Internet has to offer.

Well, the 2 hour meeting I was dreading this afternoon did, in fact, last only 2 hours, plus Dave gave us a break after an hour. My part was pretty much reviewed without comment, other than a request that I add a link to a report posted by another agency. So go me!! Afterwards, I ran by the Food Lion for some supper ingredients and some other stuff. We’ve eaten and I’m in chill mode.
I’ve also been researching classroom flags. The flag in my daughter’s class is so faded and awful looking, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was dry rotted. I’m thinking of starting a drive at work to raise some money to replace some of the flags. The nicer cotton ones run about $15 a pop - I’m guessing there are at least 30 classrooms. I can’t afford to donate that much. Wish I could sell enough pottery to meet that. I’ll post something at work and see.

Like I said - he very likely could be 2nd generation - but Bill & Brian have siblings that aren’t famous - and just because there is no mention of it doesn’t mean he’s not related to them… Ok, his bio says he’s the producer’s stepson, but I maintain there is a biological link between Sean & Bill.
Sounds like hubby’s visit was most enjoyable, mmmmmmmmmmm. 
So how long until the next one? Not too too long, I hope?
So it appears that the younger our two furkids, the very adorable but not particularly bright tortie known as Morgan, has discovered that people food is tastier than cat food. Be damned if I know where she figured this out, because this is the same cat who couldn’t figure out what to do with tuna just a couple of weeks ago… but she just about snagged the steak off my plate tonight when I turned my back.
Which means now I have to guard my dinner from two pestering four-legged brats. Argh.
Puggy, I consider myself duly warned. Thanks for the heads up… I’ll try to leave the analytical part of my brain at home when we go.
On that note, off I go to clean some litterboxes and wash some dishes. In sequential order rather than at the same time, obviously.

Hey, all. Thanks for the good wishes–they worked. A long day which could have been made shorter if the lib in question had bothered to show me LOTS of stuff that I need to know slowly over time, instead of trying to cram in “how to run an entire dept and budget” in 8 hours or less…

eta - the red tape has been tied in a pretty bow - my doc gave me the okay to return to work - she said I should bring a bag of Hall’s with me which will take care of the last remnants of what has dwindled to a cold. I still can’t hear out of my right ear, but I assume that, too, will improve with time.

Helloooooooooo everyone, I’m back and tanned and still jet-lagged. Pics and stories will come later. I’ve had an exhausting few days back because I was promoted just before I left so now I get to work in the office four days a week. The only part I’m enjoying so far is the gossip - there’s ever so much more of it in the admin side of things.
The bright side is, now that I work at a desk I’ll probably have more time to be on the Dope, heh.
