A motto for the SDMB?

I submit:

We are not afraid to follow truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it. - Thomas Jefferson

What would you propose?

We are not afraid but please bring pie and if possible nekkid women and beer

“If you are not a [del]freethinker[/del] [del]libertarian[/del] leftist, then go suck eggs. Motto subject to change.”

“Fighting ignorance”

Ooooh, I like that, but we should really add a “since 1973” to it, and then parenthetically note that it’s taking longer than we thought.

How about: We have nothing to fear but…well, we have nothing to fear, even you idiots who come here with an agenda!

Below that we could do: Bring it on! ( :stuck_out_tongue: with an attribute to GW Bush of course)

This could catch on…

Nah, I’ve changed my mind.

I thought it was “let’s roll”?

Bush has a lot of catchy phrases. I haven’t heard ‘Lets roll!’ but don’t even need a cite to believe he would say something that stupid.

-XT

I believe he used it just days after the WTC attacks and before the operation in Afghanistan, in reference to a soundbite from the plane where the passengers attempted to retake it.

I believe “let’s roll” was Todd Beamer on 9/11.

Whereas Bush’s “bring 'em on” was an invitation to terrorists to attack US troops in Iraq. One of his more successful schemes, alas…

How about: We can have a vicious argument about anything.

how 'bout:
“I disagree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to be pitted”

(well, that’s almost what Abe Lincoln said)

I think it might have been Voltaire.

Extremely “almost”, since the quote is commonly attributed to Voltaire.

No, it’s time for the logical segue: Mission Accomplished.

Isn’t that false advertising? It’s like saying ‘we won’ in reference to Iraq.

Uh, yeah…

Fighting ignorance… bring 'em on… Mission Accomplished (it’s taking longer than we thought).

I like it!
