Pretty good, NCB. I can see better how Cowd will be fitting in. What a weasel he is so far. I don’t know if it’s money he’s getting from the shadowy Xavvian, but it must be something valuble to make him risk his position for an unseen master. Blackmail maybe?
Since I’ll be gone on an out of town job for the next few days, I’ll fill you guys in on what I am leading Cowd into…
He wants more than just fame. He wants to be part of the New World Order that this shadowy figure guy was promissing. An order outside of Forsettian influence, since this shadowy figure guy has a score to settle with Forsetti.
It’s just the vague outline I’m working from, not instructions. 
But, that’s why I created Cowd in the first place. To answer some questions about… succession… maybe?

We’re accelerated at work for Jeanne. I don’t know when I’ll get back to post. The first person who e-mails me will find out what Darson is now, and can play around with that until I come back.
Well, my trip is delayed and extended by a day now. Sat - Wed instead of Fri - Tues. So, I’ll make a couple of more posts. Someone else take the Darson/kafka angle, I made him who he is, I want to be surprised at how my creature turns out.

Why would you want to have two "slipped"s in a row?
I wanted to introduce Danielle and Soren as part of Kathy’s team. I didn’t know what other characters the other writers wanted to have on the team, so I put them in their own cabin. If everyone will introduce who they want, then the team can arrive.
I liked Danielle being short and Soren being tall and them falling in love. It just seemed cute with this Thor-like character and the pixie, so different, and yet evenly matched.
I was thinking along the lines of having the Xavvians/Humans discover the life behind the crystals and then they could band together to defeat the Kel and the other bad guys. But then remember, there are apparently bad Xavvians (and we know there are bad Humans) so there could be bad crystal-people too.

The word “slipped” should come after the word “both”.
It would refer to Darson and Robert, near the end of the fight. “They *both * slipped”
That’s what gave Kathy the chance to grab onto Darson.
ivylass, you must be psychic. If you hadn’t have been able to respond to Darson’s plight, what I would have written would have been almost exactly like your post. I figured on using Tharn authority over their own “nationals”, just like you did, and having Darson try to plead it wasn’t his fault. Fantastic post.
Cue the “Twilight Zone” music. Dee de de de, de de de de.
Now all we need is a Kel confrontation so Cori can rescue Darson…he’s not in a secure facility any more, so she should be able to do that. Maybe M’Artel and Robert can help…won’t that be ironic!!

I’m looking for more religious unrest to pop up, and for just why the Xavvians and Tharns hate each other. Racial, historical, philisophical?
