I prefer bread made from quadrotriticale myself.
It was developed by a Russian, you know.
Jeff died of shame because his kid never did learn how to pronounce his name.
Two questions for Lute. Are Hrungs supposed to be sentient, and, are they capable of rapid movement?
Not a big Hitchhiker’s fan I see…
Ivy, it’s up to you to save Darson. He’s up a creek, that’s for sure.
I purposely left it open in case someone wanted to make it a Kel in disguise or some other chameloen.
And what NCB said.
Ok, I don’t know HGTTG, so if/when I use the Hrung, I’ll probably be glad it’s been left open.
Lute, I was wondering how you would get Zora in there again! The man must be one heck of a linguist I see.
He’s more of a student of ancient Earth history. The second code was inspired by the Navajo codetalk used in WWII and is primarily used by Zora and his t’waligiums. The clicks and whirrs are identical to a code used by POWs in Hanoi, and not as secure. The desert crystallines on Forsetti co-opted it for their own use after they had discovered it was more convenient than their natural language.
Pretty cool idea Lute. I like it when we have included things that we ourselves know about, or have at least researched. Sheesh, back when we wrote the first Western, I got help from my sister the pharmacist on what would constitute a safe, and an unsafe dose of laudanum.
ivylass, I’m assuming “the Xavvian” is M’Artel? That guy sure has himself in a world of hurt, doesn’t he?
Yes. We seemed to have gotten a little sidetracked with all these wonderful subplots, so I threw in another Sykoft murder to get M’Artel back in trouble again.
Hint hint…unless someone has another idea, a Kel did show up in Cowd’s office…
I’m working ona post right now that should interest y’all.
I was wondering when you frelling motherless wallsens were going to show up again.
Good grief, I leave for five hours, to do laundry and go to my weekly class at church. I come back and expect to find maybe one new post at most.
You all took my breath away! Oh, and I had a suspicion it wasn’t really M’Artel, I would have written it in as the Kel too, but the ending of that post, WHEW! I LOVE ALL!
One question, where is Jade just now? Or should I write that in myself? I also think Gr’Vinnia is in peril.
There should be an “it” in between LOVE and ALL! :smack:
And Corner Case, I like the tension you have introduced, the “sword” hanging over M’Artel.
I just figured you were gettin horny, up there in Kansa and all.
The Voss problem seems to be related to the crystal’s sentience, unless I’m reading it wrong. The two things happening at once all of a sudden are what I’m keying in on there. Be interesting to see whats happened about 15- 20 posts from now.
Oh, and NCB, I love how you took Darson’s gender and ran with it. It was just about how I envisioned it, only you put in a bit more texture and subtlety. Nicely done!
ivylass, I liked the humor in your latest post. We haven’t had many laughs in this story yet!
Well, I was going to have Darson out wandering the halls of the hotel, and I may yet have him do that, but I got caught up in his “confusion.”
So, Darson may decide to go face the Judges of the Beyond, and to do that he must leave his “waiting room…”
I realized that Jade had kind of “got lost” from the narrative, although, because of her background, she had arrived on Forsetti at the request of Kark. So I wrote my post to explain why she had been gone. She’s been doing more specialized, intensive computer research in a library facility that’s like a studio apartment. Cot, auto-food dispenser, and so on. Used by authorized academicians whe they really need to concentrate, away from distractions.
Will Cori arrive before Jade does? Inquiring minds want to know. And I’m getting scared for Gr’Vinnia, around a sleaze like Cowd.
