A New Kitten!

So last night, I have this dream that I am in a hotel with my best friend and mom, in Pensacola. I wander out into the hall and find a tiny, black and white kitten with gold eyes, pick it up and start to play with it. She’s very sweet, has the personality of my calico cat, who’s a runt and is the size of a 6 month old even though she was born last June. I’m turning into Rue here, so I’ll get back on topic. [sub] love ya Rue babe![/sub]
Anyway, I’m playing with this little kitten getting very attached, and then my mom sees me holding it. She’s a cat lover, to make a huge understatement. We sit out in the hall playing with this kitten and then I wake up.
Today my mom drives into Springs to go shopping. (The day after Thanksgiving, I have no idea why.) She stops at Home Depot to pick some stuff up for my dad. When she gets home, she walks to my door and lightly knocks on it, I open it up to see her holding the black and white kitten. She says, “I was in the parking lot and she almost was hit by a car, fell into a puddle of mud, was soaking wet when I picked her up and dried her off.” Then she gives me a huge grin and walks the kitten off to my sister’s room.

We have 5 cats, one who was just put to sleep at the end of this summer. My dad is severely allergic to animals, but we have so many because he just can’t say no to us. She’s so tiny, and she’s sleeping in my room tonight. It seems like we’ve always got a new cat around, no matter what. We have kittens again

Yay! Kitties!

Tell your new kitten “Purr” for me, will ya?

Have you named her yet?

Kitty!!!

Name suggestion: Boo (Monsters Inc.)

Congratulations!!!

That’s terrific!

'Grats on the kitty, and 'grats on the Dad.

Is your Dad popping Claritin like there was no tomorrow or what?

aaaaahhhhh, a kitten. what fun!

psychic too, i wonder what else the kitten will put in your mind…!

Update on the Kitten:
Sleeping with kittens is not a good idea. Sleeping with kittens who haven’t been declawed is an even worse idea.
I’m getting ready to go to bed, pulling up the covers and turning off the light. Kitten is exploring, and all the sudden I hear the rustling of my dried roses. I’m thinking, “” then I look up and see her on top of my stereo, 7 feet off the ground!
Grab her, drop her on the bed and get in. Kitten settles down, and I’m not thinking this will be that bad.
This kitten never stops purring. Ever. She purrs in her sleep, when she’s awake, eating, no matter what she’s always purring. And she’s decided that the best position to sleep in is on my neck, all of her, with her face inside my ear. So I am trying to go to sleep without moving too much, and having the running motor of a speedboat in my ear.
All night went like this. Every time I moved, she would get up and move to the other side so she could be right in my face. Until 5:30, when I got up and made tea and a toaster strudel. I came back and she settled down, me on the left side of the bed ane her on the right. Mom came in and took her out at 8:30 and I slept until 10:30. I am very very tired.

My sister gets to sleep with her tonight.
Dad doesn’t take Claritin, he just stays away from them all and washes his hands a lot. We have to keep them all out of his room every day.
Haven’t thought of a name for her yet, but open for suggestions.

Wahh… I want a kitten…
But congrats on getting a new friend =>

Purry? Since she purrs non-stop?

Kittens are the best. They’re so soft and fuzzy and warm-like little heaters. And they’re just so lovable.

How about Bagheera, the leopard from The Jungle Book?
Though as described, s/he sounds like ZAC*, a cat we used to own. Good cat.

*ZAC = Zorro Aardvark Cat. Don’t ask me, my sister named him.

Mmmm…kittens, purring, kneading claws…

Sounds like you’ve found a new little friend. We also have a black-and-white one, and he’s pretty special. Well, all of our three are special.

Our youngest (found, BTW, in a farmer friend’s barnyard, after her barn-cat mother abandoned her at two weeks of age) used to love to sleep on me at night when she was a kitten. I guess I fulfilled the “mother” role as far as a heartbeat went–she would curl up on my chest and sleep and purr all night, and I was afraid to move lest I disturb her. But she and I made it through okay, and today, she is still a handful.

Sleeping with kittens is a fine idea, as long as you know you’re sleeping with kittens. They’ll grab whatever they can with their claws when they wake up suddenly. Even if it’s you.

Anyway, nice story. Enjoy the new kitten!

Congrats on the new family member! Shibby would be a good name.
[sub]How often do you have these kinds of premonitions?[/sub]

Hate to say this, but you really should consider having the new kitten along with the rest of your cats fixed. The reason you got this kitten is because there isn’t a big enough demand to take care of all the kittens born. Since you found this one the SPCA should help by giving you a discount for the procedure.

I’m so happy for you!

Well Hi all, I’ve been a lurker for some time now, and I felt it time to post.

I love kitties…comgrats. I myself am a cat lover, I have 3. Mars, Clyde, and Ares. I had an awesome gray cat named Shiva but he thought he could find a better home somewhere else…or at least that what I want to believe, it’s better then he got hit by a car or something. You may want to give your cat a cool unusual name. Take my user name for example, Setheme’s Mom It’s my sugar glider’s name…Setheme. Well his whole name is Setheme Wompen, but that’s a bit long…lol I once had a cat named Bleow…sounds like meow, but with a bl. My 3 year old son could not say meow, he said bleow. I am partial to unusual names.

So again congrats on your new furball.

If you need a name how about…

Wait for it…
