Yo Dawg, I heard you liked reboots. Here’s a Reboot of a Reboot. New BSG Reboot coming…to theaters. Ron Moore is not attached.
What an utter bankruptcy of ideas.
I think this has been rumored before. What an odd idea.
Yeah, right. If they’d do this, they’d do something like reboot the Spiderman movie franchise immediately after establishing it.
Oh. Wait. Never mind.
Frak, what a bad idea.
I think Glen Larson always wanted to do this but the Ron Moore reimagining shelved it for awhile. Considering what RDM did to the ending of his version, I’m okay with a re-reimagining.
I think there is one way to revive Galactica. We know that there are still Cylons out there, somewhere. “Red Stripe” cylons also. Imagine that they have been fighting a 100,000 year stalemate of a war since the “Red Stripes” were set free.
Flash to Modern Day Earth. Archeologists working in the African Rift Valley find the Raptor that Adama was flying around in in the final episode. Of course it is still in 100% working condition. Human scientists are able to reverse engineer the jump engines, an find plans for larger ships, right up to Battlestars. At the same time, other scientists begin using the technology to create AI’s. All that has happened shall happen again.
Oh, and with the first test of a large-scale jump, the evil Cylons and the Red Stripes “re-find” humanity, which is now 25% genetically Cylon.
Anybody else think it could work?
So say we … not very many.
Weird.
This has all happened before…
…and it will happen again
Amen, brother!
I’ll bet cubits to crullers that Boxey and Muffit appear in the movie.
Every silver lining is inside a cloud.
Here’s a little more from Variety: 'Battlestar Galactica' Movie Gets New Life at Universal (EXCLUSIVE) - Variety
I think that the other two movies mentioned in the stories just about sum up what the reboot will be like.
Utter garbage.
Felgercarb.
It all starts with 5 folks on the ISS hearing a faint musical sound…which turns out to be a easternish sounding Yakkity Saks.
As Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan,The Three Musketeers, Zorro,Batman, etc have proven time and again, there isn’t a property which cannot be successfully “rebooted” if it is done by a skilled hand. After all, it’s a poor miner that cannot find new veins of gold in any narrative.
BSG is hardly a literary classic. Both iteration had significant flaws to them which could be smoothed over by a new creative force. And as long as they didn’t make it include a talking dog” or a Christmas special, they should be safe.
This one better have a daggum daggit.
And good looking nekkid people.
Dear Lord… they’re rebooting Benny Hill?
Will this be the start of a movie franchise with sequels, or a one off?
I HOPE they don’t find present day Earth. Or ancient Earth. Make it future Earth, if anything.
I HOPE Captain Kirk will come to the rescue at the last moment.
