Vikes 31, Lions 24
Redskins 20, Bucs 17
Bears 27, Pack 24
Maybe this year, Atlanta won’t get in the way between Minnesota and St. Louis.
By the way, why did the Rams and the Chargers decide to play basketball instead of football?

Penn State 22, Purdue 20
and
Steelers 24, Jaguars 13–in Jacksonville, no less.
There is finally joy in Mudville, if only for a week.
LSU 38, Tennessee 31 in Overtime
My God, that has to be one of the most exciting games I’ve ever seen on TV. The furious comebacks, blocked field goal, the crucial 3rd and 4th down conversions, two-point conversions, all sorts of plays–both teams can stand proud that they delivered a wonderful game for the viewers. Not that too many Vols fans would think so, but it’s true.
[Afterthought] Dallas wins one [/Afterthought]
The college game is just so much more exciting.
<~~~~Me, big Vikings fan
<~~~~ My boyfriend, suffering Packer fan

It was a good day.
My “football” trifecta for the week was ruined by ruadh’s Celtic FC and an unbelievably bad referreeing decision:
Aberdeen 1-1 Celtic
Well, the Irish didn’t lose this week…
Let’s make that a Pennsylvania trifecta :
Eagles 38
Falcons 10
Brian Mitchell made Atlanta look like they were standing still : an 85 yard run on a handoff and a 90 yard punt return, both for TDs.
SHHHMACK!
Errr, that would be an 89 yard kickoff return, not a 90 yard punt return.
The Bears beat the Packers. All is right in the world.
Bears 27 Packers 24 (Chicago area resident)
Mississippi State 47 Florida 35 (Rabid Florida State fan)
Northwestern 37 Michigan State 17 (Northwestern student)
Oh yes, it was indeed a good weekend in the world of sports.
OK, Bears fans, how did you accomplish that body-switch between Favre and McNown? I really don’t think that sort of thing is fair.
From what little I saw, Farv threw it well enough, but his receivers were doing their best Roberto Duran impressions.
PS- Dorthy Levens has another hangnail, so he’ll be out for a couple of weeks. I have him on my FF team. He is so benched, and headed for Cutsville on the express.
I was at Lambeau field sunday. How sweet it is! Gotta admit though, I’ve been to alot of NFL games, Packer fans are the best fans in the world! In Dirtroit, if you are a Bear’s fan, you’re lucky to get out alive, win or lose.
