Kind of speaks for itself. It’s interesting to weigh her assertion that this is just pure fun for the daughter vs the intensive preparation for competition she describes.

Putting a 3 to 4 year old on a tanning bed?

1. The whole “fake” thing: I don’t know… I think a lot of mom’s first impression is that their child doesn’t need the fake stuff - but then after you lose so much you either get the picture or quit or go to natural pageants. My daughter has been competing since she was 5 months old, and she didn’t start really wearing the makeup and hair until she was 2. For awhile, she balked at lashes, so we didn’t do them. But then she saw other kids getting them and she decided to have them, but only I can do them on her (she won’t let anyone else.) The hair is really no big deal, because the bulk of the work is on the wiglet or fall (it takes me about two hours to roll a fall and about 5 min to get it on her head and fixed) and it spares the child’s hair from damage from so much teasing and curling etc. I’m not crazy about the tanning, but she doesn’t mind it and we actually have our own machine; and now instead of damaging my skin, my husband tans me with it…

shouldn’t that read “I’ve been whoring my daughter out since she was 5 months old”?

It’s not like she asked to be put in pageants. at 5 months.

Is she talking about a tanning bed or a spray machine? She says “instead of damaging my skin my husband tans me with it”. Not that it makes a whole lot of difference, but at least she isn’t raising her daughter’s risk of skin cancer.

Sometimes that silver lining is reeeeally thin.

Okay, ONE more comment - esp to “where’s the coffee” (this is Pageant Mom a-gain) the tanning machine is a SPRAY-tan machine (using the sugar-based solution) LOL. I would NEVER put UV lights on myself or my daughter (good grief, I might be dumb but I’m not stupid ;o)

Exactly what I was going to say. What in the name of Og is WRONG with these people? My wife was watching a documentary about these people the other day and I literally became ill watching it. A 5-10 year old girl should NEVER be made up this way. It’s just completely sick.
