A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

That’s why I stopped fighting with him and asked him a direct question about his motives. People like this usually shoot themselves in the foot if you give them the opportunity.

I saw a Facebook post about how the REAL transition will be in March, as it was originally intended, and it will result in is becoming a REPUBLIC again and all hail Trump, savior of the country.

These idiots could have saved everyone a shit-ton of time, trouble, and paperwork by listening to us in the beginning. Trump has no substance. If you trust him, he betrays you. If you help him, he uses and discards you. If you need help, he ignores you. He never had a plan; does not know what a strategy is.

Nobody had to go to jail to figure this out, but they couldn’t resist the urge to fuck around and find out. Listen to us next time, assholes: Orange. Man. Bad.

That harkens back to classic pit posts of yore. Well done!

Don Jr reportedly didn’t want one. Didn’t think he did anything illegal. Idiots don’t stop being idiots because their fathers lose elections.

And apparently Ivanka and Jared Kushner were among those advising against issuing pardons for the family. They thought, probably correctly, that it would make them look guilty and they didn’t like the optics on it. And it especially became unlikely after Jan 6 when it really would make them look shady ahead of the impeachment trial.

And in their estimation they’re wealthy and connected enough they aren’t likely to serve much, if any, prison time. The sad thing is they’re probably not wrong.

I don’t want to hijack, but I’m curious why they care about the consequences of impeachment. I mean, nothing’s going to come out of this except Don Sr. not being able to hold office again, right? That and some unflattering testimony that nobody’s going to remember.

Fodder for civil suits.

Their entire premise is irrational. Personally, I am hoping some intrepid journalist or hacker (maybe Anonymous?) can find out exactly who Q is/was and exposes the whole QAnon gig as a con pulled on the gullible, because I have a feeling (based on no evidence at all) that Q started as a prank for the lulz and got turned into a ginormous money-making machine.

I’d put money on that being partially but largely true.

As above, there are potential civil suits. And for the kids, there’s the possibility of criminal charges.

Also, Ivanka and Jared really do have delusions of grandeur. Ivanka is eyeing a Senate or Gubernatorial run in Florida and Jared thinks he’s set himself up as an international wheeler and dealer. Pardons would work against their long term goals.

I was thinking about that but the QAnoners wouldn’t believe it. They’d say he/she was a fake. If Q could somehow prove it then they’d say he was threatened with torture or some silliness. When one believes in Satanic baby-eating pedophiles there is nothing else they won’t believe.

Great as he should. Nobody likes to feel stupid. The question is how can this be used as a teaching moment to put some people, at least, on the path of fighting ignorance as opposed to embracing it?

My bolding at the end. Once you unmoor yourself from facts, everything can be “explained.” Just look at all the doomsday predictions over the centuries—when Doomsday never arrived, it turned out that the reason was a mistake in the calculations, that’s all! Keep giving us your money, we’re bound to get it right next time! Etc. (Example below.)

JohnT, thanks for posting all that QAnon madness. It’s painful to realize that many of our fellow citizens are so broken-brained. But that’s a fact we can’t ignore.

If it keeps them from shooting up state capitals, then, yes: good thing.

Also good: the inevitable fracturing of these groups, between those who believe Donald Trump betrayed them (or who realize, belatedly, his idiocy), and those who want to believe Trump is still the Master who is ‘pulling Biden’s strings.’

Let them splinter into a thousand squabbling, impotent factions.

That is such an important question.

One problem is that many people (in the USA especially) have become addicted to the kind of “news” that flatters them. FoxNews and other right-wing media tell the viewer/listener that they are Smart, that they are The Only Ones Who Get It, that they are Righteous, and that they are Being Victimized. And for various reasons, members of species Homo sapiens adore–and crave–this message. It’s more addictive than sugar.

To stop believing oneself the center of all things, after (possibly) years of being told that that’s exactly what you are—that won’t be easy. Most won’t even attempt it.

What chance do logic and reason have against the flattery of being told you’re the pivot around which the Universe revolves?

It’s a tough one.

Word. I became entranced halfway through reading it, and I had to scroll up to see if it had been written by Cervaise. Then I remembered that Ann_Hedonia has had her inspirational vituperative floodgates opened in the last few weeks.

Then, he can invite all his peeps down to Mar-a-Lago, and they can smear their sh*t on the walls there, too.

I think QAnon is Anonymous.

Donnie Goes to Mar-A-Lago.

It occurs to me that he didn’t pardon the “whistleblowers” that did their patriotic duty and risked the scorn of the left wing mob and bravely came forward with their sworn affidavits of election fraud.

I remember him calling them out for their bravery on Twitter, causing even more of them to come forward. I hope they nail them all for perjury and perpetuating a fraud upon the court, or something.

When I saw the pardon list this morning, I was surprised by one stark omission - Jeanine Pirro ex-husband and Trump crony Al Pirro. Then I saw something later this morning about him being added to the pardon list at the last minute, so I figured he’d made Jeanine come over in the morning and pay the piper. Just kidding, I think she still hates her ex, he made Al come over.

I was relieved to see he didn’t pardon any uncharged crimes, though - unless I missed something. I wasn’t really surprised by the lack of pardons for his family and administration because it’s not in Donnie Two-Scoops nature to give someone something that he wants for himself and can’t have, also if they’re pardoned they can’t plead the fifth when called as witnesses.

It wouldn’t matter. Scientology got outed and there are still millions who believe it.

For reference, see Trump, Donald.
