A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

Meh, that was then.

The politico article is from January 11, 2021. Businesses have long since gone back to cosying up to Republicans, Trump and The Big Lie. They continue to funnel money into campaign funds of (R)s who are working VERY hard to further marginalize anyone who is not a rich white male.

Now we’re getting the weapons grade schadenfreude:

Trump supporter who assaulted cops at the Capitol sentenced to five years in prison.

May he serve every. Single. Day.

Not so much. The stiffer penalties always go to the black guy. He shoulda seen this coming.

Did I miss this one? Madison Cawthorn owes money, and he can’t pay it back. Just another reason that embezzling campaign funds is a bad idea.
ETA: If Mad Cawthorn isn’t on your celebrity death pool list, you might want to consider an update.

Now that’s what I call schadenfreude!

I did my minuscule bit today to contribute to schadenfreude.

The news was on in the background as I went about my day. A story came on about J. D. Vance, currently running as the Republican candidate for governor in Ohio. This lovely piece of shit stated in an interview recently that it would be better for women to stay in unhappy marriages, even if they are violent, for the sake of the children.

Speaking as a former child whose parents attempted to do this, I can say with absolute certainty that we children did cry when our violent parents finally split. With relief. They never did us a greater service than to get as far from one another as they possibly could.

The news story was accompanied by a list of corporations who contribute to this asshole’s campaign. My home and auto insurer was among them. I immediately called my agent and asked him to switch my coverage.

Fuck that guy and all the corporations that support him.

Do what you can with what you got, says I.

Can I say the same?

When my parents finally divorced, we told them it was about damn time.

That’s a great start; to complete it, though, you have to make sure that they know WHY you are changing carriers. People leave for any number of reasons, the most common being lower rates. The number of people leaving for reasons such as this can get lost in the statistics. They’re going to assume “better rates in hard times”, and not change their actions.

About 1/3 of the companies kept their promises. A horrible ratio, but I’ve got to give some credit to the companies that did.

Never heard of CREW until now — thanks. They do important work. Few are aware how companies support certain candidates (mainly through PACs), and how we all support many of these companies (mainly through our $).

Builds character, right?

Way ahead of you. I spent part of my evening composing a letter I will send to the carrier as soon as the switch has been successfully facilitated.

I’ve been a faithful customer of theirs for more than a decade, so they need to know exactly what caused me to change my mind about them literally 1 day after I’d just paid my auto premiums. Hopefully there will be others.

Not a fan, and I look forward to voting against him, but he’s actually running for the US Senate.

And in other news:

Thanks for correcting my mistake. It’s hard to keep all the dipshits straight.

You need a program. Can’t tell your dipshits apart without a program.

(Updating spreadsheet…)

You need one of those big boards with pins and colored strings connecting all pictures. I remember My Pillow Guy had one showing all the deep state connections but I can’t find the image now.

got it:

This should be the case more often!
