A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

I liked what the F-14 pilots said was the most common malfunction for their planes: The R10 switch.

I use PEBKAC quite a bit, but I can’t puzzle out what R10 means. So I guess I just had a PEBKAC.

Just a guess, but the guy in the back seat of an F-14 was known as the Radar Intercept Officer, abbreviated RIO. R10 looks like RIO.

Pilots can be such cutups. I’ve heard them identify flying animals as a B1RD or a GU-11.

Schadenfreude is when I see his face on this photo: the mouthbreather does not look fit. Oh, and that he had the photo taken together with former Philadelphia mob boss Joseph “Skinny Joey” Merlino and that he does not remember whether he knows him or not. Looking at his face again I am almost willing to believe that he does not remember. Time to let him try to draw a watch.

You got it. There is a panel of switchs labeled R then some number, but there are less than ten. So R10 refers to the RIO (Radar Intercept Officer). Aside: I’m still unsure how necessary the RIO was in that aircraft.

One variation of the test is to provide the person with a blank piece of paper and ask them to draw a clock showing 10 minutes after 11. The word “hands” is not used to avoid giving clues.

I’d be tempted to draw a digital clock, 11:10 with seven-segment style numerals.

If you are able to paint the 4 x 7 segments correctly, not forgetting the “:” in the middle, you pass the test in my book.
:one: :one: : :one: :zero:
And I claim the mouthbreather would not, neither with hands nor with numerals.

Also, if you can still effectively be a smartass, you’re probably not in cognitive decline.

Oh, I forgot this is the Pit: your way of expressing my thoughts is much better. Smartass, what a nice word.

The hard part would be making it blink.

Pencil and an eraser.

That’s excellent.

Hmm, I might ask my doctor for a cognitive test, just so I can draw a Nixie Clock:

“Why, yes, I did bring a set of pens and watercolors.”

.

eta: “You didn’t mention a time limit, did you?”

I thought of that, too. I might also draw an analog clock face and put roman numerals on it.

Caveman drawings of animals.
“It’s 10 elk past moose”.

Oh, I’ve got it, draw a sundial and then use the pencil to cast a shadow on the correct time.

There’s also a very cool clock in Berlin that shows the time with colored water in glass tubes.

“I pronounce you sane, and a complete pain in the ass.”

There’s another very cool clock in Berlin at the Alexanderplatz, the Urania World Clock. Try drawing THAT!

I’ve heard of that one.

Here’s the one I was thinking of.

Another cool clock, this one in Düsseldorf:

The lights on the side of the Rheinturm designate the time. It has a claim to being the biggest digital clock in the world.

(What is it with Germans and ambitious clocks?)

Someone misspelled it on the purchase order?
