A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

Forgive me for being insufficiently shamed (I’ll chalk it up to circumstance. The circumstance in question being the subject of the attack). Anyway, I already wish worse than death upon the America-hating fuckstick. I wish suffering. For a LONG time.

I personally got chastised on these boards for even admitting hate certain people. I mean, it’s complicated, but it’s something I’ve worked on. I think even in the Pit, can you wish death on people?

I don’t know if they’re trying to sway anybody with this commercial. I think they’re specifically only paying to run it in the Palm Beach market so that Loser Donald will be forced to see it over and over while he’s obsessively watching TV all day waiting to hear his own name.

I mean, I guess… if that’s what you want to spend your money doing. This is America.

If it gives Trump a stroke, it’s money well spent.

The likelihood of that?

I’ll take the odds.

I mean, I don’t want to sound like that guy, but perhaps work more on dismantling/changing what made Trump so “successful”, instead of petty BS that doesn’t help? If you’re not doing it to sway anyone, I don’t see it as productive.

I do hate the man. What’s that story? With the Scorpio who stung the man trying to save it from drowning? I just don’t think ACTIVELY hating someone, so much is healthy. I don’t wish harm on people, but might laugh if harm finds them.

Seems to me that attacks to his ego are exactly that.

…I’ll give that to you, to some degree.

It does paint him as loser you shouldn’t aspire to be like. I think we need to look much deeper than that, but I guess it serves that purpose.

Strongly disagree. Trump is essentially a mindless puppet, he can change neither himself nor his public. What made him successful was the collective psyche of a large number of American voters, so filled with rage and fear and hate that they would willingly destroy themselves if only their enemies were laid even a little lower than they are. It is possible to change that, I suppose, but it is a very, very long term project.

And a puppet’s strings are easily pulled when you play on his insecurities, particularly his fear of being branded a loser and his unfulfilled desire for his father’s approval. The idea is to make him mad so that he’ll start flailing around to prove that he’s not a loser and is in fact Daddy’s Specialist Boy, because when he’s in that state he makes mistakes and says things that come back to bite him in the ass.

I wish I could remember the quote, but I can’t. Something along the lines of ‘They’d happily live under a bridge, as long as the other guy doesn’t have a bridge to live under.’

A quick search tells me that’s the correct quote and it’s usually attributed to Chris Rock.

Isn’t there something about happy living under a bridge eating a rat as long as the guy next to them only has half a rat.

I’m not finding anything. Do you have the exact wording?

That sounds familiar too.

Not exact. The search I did was with my preferred chat-bot.

My point was that Trump could disappear tomorrow, but all those voters will still be out there slavering for a leader to follow to hell, and the next guy might be just as cynical but not be so stupid and clumsy as Trump.

Though being stupid and clumsy is actually seriously part of his appeal…

Maybe, but cults of personality rarely outlive their figurehead.
