A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

But of the biggest ships in the U.S. Navy, yes, they are.

Sometimes captains are Commanders.

I was onboard the Polar Star icebreaker a number of years ago. I recall a Commander, but I see that the ship currently has a Captain.

Pretty much. I mean, he’s lived in la-la land most of his life.

A quick search shows that you can be a Lieutenant (O-3) and be the captain of a ship… at least for a given definition of ‘ship’. In WWII, submarine captains were often LCDRs (O-4s).

“I will correct, in rapid response, any and all inaccurate Statements, especially pertaining to the Border and his Weaponization of the [Department of Justice], FBI, [attorney generals], and District Attorneys, to go after his Political Opponent, ME (something never done before in this Country!),” Trump continued. “We did this once before to tremendous success – Beating All Records. It is important for the Country to get the TRUTH!”

If he actually goes through with this, SNL and the other usual suspects are going to have a field day.

nm: I miss parsed Trumpian gibberish.

And as far as I can tell this didn’t happen.

We did this once before to tremendous success – Beating All Records.

… to go after his Political Opponent, ME (something never done before in this Country!)

The Orange Imbecile is slipping! It’s supposed to be “something never done before in history” (excuse me, in “History”). In the world view of the Orange Imbecile, everything he has ever done, or everything that’s ever been done to him, is either the greatest thing in History or the worst Persecution in History, respectively.

Seems Trump is owing money all over the place.

Another $382,000 bill just came due, this one from Britain, where Trump’s case against Steele’s company went down the toilet, and Trump was ordered to pay Steele’s legal fees.

Cue sad trombone noise.

Well, from his POV it is: it’s called solipsism or, alternatively, a puerile form of megalomania.

We’re You’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning. And you’ll say, ‘Please, please. It’s too much winning. We can’t take it anymore. Mr. President, it’s too much.’”

It didn’t occur to me that he was talking about all the lawsuits he was going to lose.

I heard the clinking of glasses.

So does this mean we might get to see Trump as a pro se defendant? Dear Flying Spaghetti Monster, I know I haven’t been a very good noodletarian lately, but if you could give me this one sign…

Accordian.

My high school Navy ROTC teacher, who had been a submarine captain in the '80s, had been a Commander at the time.

About $15,000 per year from what I’m seeing.

Fwiw in the royal navy the head honcho position in charge of the vessel is officially “commanding officer “ so commander and below is a CO if in charge, although probably informally called captain. I assume if the COs rank is captain or above they are still the Commanding Officer but probably get called by their correct rank.
There were a few other ‘ positions’ like consider that were not ranks but assigned according to the role teh person was in, those have largely been retried or converted to actual ranks as the various NATO militaries align ranks and terminology

Actual Navy rank of Captain is a Colonel equivalent in the army .

Trump’s twitter clone crashed during the SOTU.

Property law is not particularly my thing but I had some exposure to it earlier in my career and my experience was that setting up a complex security transaction involving large numbers of properties was a Big Deal, simply in terms of the sheer volume of paperwork involved. Getting far more simple transactions than what the Orange One might need to complete here would take well over a month.

In other words when I say that three days might be of practical use I’m not talking about anything to do with the Orange One or his net finances. I’m meaning that it might be of practical use to the poor schmucks in some legal firm somewhere trying to pull threads together on a complex financial transaction in minimal time.

"Trump’s current situation is a result of his own dilatory actions.”

“He has had since January 26 to organize his finances with the knowledge that he might need to bond this judgment, yet he waited until 25 days after the jury verdict”

From Judge Lewis Kaplan’s written judgement today.
