As a vodka connoisseurraging alcoholic or whatever I am, I agree with that assessment. It’s not that subtle differences between types of vodka don’t exist – they do – it’s that they’re subtle, and Grey Goose doesn’t even have the subtlety, IMHO. I’m pretty sure this was why Trump branched out into Trump Vodka – and failed at it just like he failed at everything else.
My standard vodka is Absolut, from Sweden, which is just simply plain good vodka with no pretensions that makes great Caesars and with a very subtle smooth and almost caramel taste on ice. Other vodkas are OK but I prefer Absolut. “Trump Vodka” was probably mixed from some combo of methyl and isopropyl alcohols and tap water. I’m sure he never touched the stuff himself.
I could totally see Trump doing this. Would this be the equivalent of lighting a cigar with a $100 bill? Stupid, wasteful, ostentatious to the point of absurdity? Yeah I can see that.
I would find it absolutely hilarious if all these voting restrictions Republicans are putting/trying to put in place end up catching far more Trump supporters voting illegally than Biden supporters. That seems to have been the case over the last 4 years. I haven’t heard of many (any?) Democrats being caught the voting illegally at all. It always seems to be Trump supporters.
There’s a question that just occurred to me. And I’m sure it’s been discussed on the board ad nauseam in the past and if someone would like to point me to a thread I would be glad to go there and read it.
My question is this: what happens to votes that are deemed to have been cast illegally? Are they struck from the historical record? They can’t be allowed to just stand right? And what if it’s found that a candidate won an election only because of fraudulent ballots? Is that candidate removed from office if they’ve already taken it? Is that possible? There’s probably legal procedures that I’m not aware of that would need to go through the system first.
As far as I’m aware, even if we know that someone voted illegally, we can’t know who they voted for. In the case that Fear_Itself posted about, it’s probably safe to assume that the Republican Party Vice Chairman voted for Republicans, but we’ll never know for sure. Can’t correct the vote tally if we don’t know what the fraudulent votes were.
All of which casts some doubt on how sincere and well-thought-out are the arguments that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
That is a fantastic point that I have failed to consider. I’ve seen those videos of poll workers opening ballot envelopes and stacking ballots on the table in front of them for counting later.
As voting is anonymous there would be no way to know for certain which way a given person voted. Even if the specific person told you who they voted for without being able to connect them to an actual ballot there’s no way to corroborate that or separate them out as they all look the same once they’re removed from their envelope.
Does this mean if someone stuffs illegal ballots at a given polling place, and it’s not caught till after the votes are counted, that person has to just be left in office short of impeachment? (Question is meant to the thread in general, not to Robot _Arm specifically.)
