Thing is, some internal campaign emails were leaked to the press, but the press has decided that they cannot in good conscience allow the public to see any of this material.

I submit that, since we cannot discuss the known content of these leaks, we should therefore speculate wildly about it. Was JD Vance, upon first meeting ShitGibbon, reminded of furniture cushions?
I guess the press, no matter its faults, unsurprisingly has more class than mtg will or could ever have.

Likely not. Yet.
There are any number of legal mechanisms that Carroll can use to make Trump pay. Whether she’s started proceedings on any of them, I don’t know, but she has a lot of options as long as she has a judgment in her favour. A writ, then asset seizure, and so on; all can be pursued by Carroll.
It is a misconception that a losing defendant in a civil case says, “Damn, I lost,” and breaks out the chequebook in the courtroom. That can happen, of course, but more often, it takes more stringent measures to collect. But the point is, that as long as Carroll has a judgment in her favour, she’ll collect eventually.
I won’t be holding my breath.

Did Carroll get paid? Yes, absolutely for the full amount.
Did Trump pay the full amount off? Good question.
He found a sucker to post bond for the judgment, which he was required to do. Made doubly possible because there’s an actually independent somebody checking over shoulders at the Trump company for financial shenanigans.
He’s almost certainly given them a down payment for at least a few million dollars for the bond and probably is making payments on it, but one suspects they’re going to get stiffed in the end for much of it.
Broader question - has Trump ever paid a dime for any lawsuits? As above, yes. And this isn’t his first lawsuit. He’s paid out several times over the years.
But as much as he should have? Usually not - his lawyers often manage to finagle delays and get reduced settlements. Not always but often, especially when they get sued by mom and pop contractors who can’t afford extensive legal battles. In this case, he tried the same thing - ‘negotiate’ for delays and a reduced judgment - and failed badly.
As above, she got her money months ago, so your lungs are safe.
Which is a separate question from how much of it Trump paid. At least some but probably not the entire amount, and the holder of the bond is probably going to be left holding some of that bag.
