Nothing nefarious or lazy here. It works, because all Democrats are the same and therefore remarks about them are interchangeable. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel, you know.
You left out beatification.
He should simply be beaten, not beatified.
You both left out deification.
I saw an ad out there somewhere where they showed trump proclaiming that the dow would collapse if Biden wins in 2020, we’d fall into a depression, unemployment would sky rocket, etc. Then they showed him saying the exact same thing about a Harris win.
Even I was a little startled that he would try a rerun of predictions that failed to materialize after 2020. Ha ha, not really.
But it did make me pay attention and I wish some trump fans would see it and just think about it a little bit.
I’d settle for cannonized.
Funny!
That usually precedes the canonization mentioned above (in the RCC, at least; Og knows what the process is in the Trumpiverse).
Why should he take a demotion?
They’re conspiracy theorists. And one of the defining traits of true CTists is, no matter how often a prediction fails to come true, they will never stop to question the usefulness of the CT mindset. They will just move on to the next prediction, convinced that it’s really going to happen.
I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t accused Harris of deleting emails.
Give Trump time. As he becomes more out of touch with reality, he might go there. After all, it “worked” against the last woman he ran against for President.
It seems like it will be only a matter of time before Clinton, Pelosi, Warren, AOC, and Harris all merge together in his mind as the nemesis that hounds him in his waking nightmares.
Actually, that might make a good Lincoln Project ad.
Yup, we’re all just like clones. Identical, down to the fingerprints.
Each one comes into view saying something that annoys him, then slides out of view for the next one to slide into view, at an accelerating rate – a sort of swirling Demmocaine.
Jon Stewart showed the two pronouncements side by side on the Daily Show on August 12. Trump used literally the exact same words in predicting an apocalypse if Biden was elected that he’s now using against Harris. It’s just astonishing how mind-bogglingly stupid his followers are.
ETA: I hadn’t noticed that @BlankSlate had posted a clip from that show up here. Anyway, I don’t know if there’s even a word to describe the abject stupidity of the average Trumpist. Even my dog wouldn’t fall for that, and I do mean that literally. Being a dog, he’s more trusting of us humans than is warranted, so you can usually trick him once. But he has a memory because he has an actual working brain, and he won’t fall for the same trick a second time.
I think that it’s astonishing that Trump thinks that what worked before, but didn’t, will work again. And it won’t. What’s the definition of insanity after all? Doing the same thing twice and expecting a different result.
Good analogy with your dog, @wolfpup . I haven’t owned a dog since I was 12, but I have owned numerous cats, and a horse, in the years since. None of the animals I have owned have been so stupid as to think that what didn’t work before will work now. Animals do indeed have memories, and they learn. I suppose what this all means is that Trump and his followers are dumber than our dogs, my cats, and a horse.
That’s good schadenfreude!
You gotta wonder how Trump is complaining about Harris replacing Biden when he’s using the exact same lazy arguments against her that he had made up way back in 2020 against Biden and used again this year. Also, how he claims that Harris, being a communist, will be easier to beat than Biden, yet it’s somehow all very “unfair”. Truly, the stupidity of his followers is a wonder to behold. I think the reason Trump doesn’t like dogs is because he hates have anyone around who can outwit him.
Feel free to use an expression I coined just a few years ago.
It would take an entire brand-new language to adequately describe how…
In this instance:
It would take an entire brand-new language to adequately describe how abjectly stupid magaflatearthers (aka Trump supporters) are.
Reminds me of an old Southwest Airlines “Want to get away?” ad with a rap star on stage saying “Thank you Detroit! We love you!” and the crowd just goes dead silent. The bass player leans over and whispers “Detroit was last night.”

trump proclaiming that the dow would collapse if Biden wins in 2020
That one definitely came true. Didn’t it?

Also, how he claims that Harris, being a communist, will be easier to beat than Biden, yet it’s somehow all very “unfair”.
When I was growing up, one of the fastest ways to infuriate my father was to complain something was unfair. He’d go into a tirade about how life isn’t fair, and whining about it will get you nowhere. You had to just deal with it and make of life what you will. As a child it was not what I wanted to hear, but as an adult I consider it one of the two most important things he taught me. The other was you should always be willing to admit when you’re wrong.
I’ve noticed (and this is true) that the MAGA types I know get really mad when I point these things out to them, in the context of Trump. I think it’s weird that this impacts them so, but it sure seems to. Almost like it’s a sliver of truth piercing the veil of the cult.
