I don’t suppose he really needs to, though, because he has solidly reliable sources, generally referred to as “they”, as in “they say”.
“They” also figure in the Orange Imbecile’s delusions of imaginary conversations, as we see here. It’s generally in the form of “they asked me …” and “I said …”, which is intended to convey both the slack-jawed ignorance of his admiring acolytes, and the brilliant enlightenment that the Orange Imbecile apparently bestows upon them.
