A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

Yeah, if by ancient, you mean about forty years old and by Chinese, you mean American. (China Sprout)

Or maybe about a hundred twenty-six years old and British. (Wikipedia)

But, hey, it is a fun saying, regardless of its origin. The Wiki link gives another two sayings ramping up the issue in order:

May you come to the attention of those in authority.

And then:

May the gods give you everything you ask for.

The last one, ISTM, is just another way of saying Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.

Quote Investigator has examined the supposedly Chinese saying also.

Bless your heart. Same thing, really.

I saw an ad banner on one of Trump’s videos today. The name caught my eye and I had to check it out.

sales page (patriotaddict.com)

Patriot addict? As in addicted to patriotism? Or just addicts who are grifting off Trump’s brand of patriotism? Who knows. Anyway, they are selling a lighter.

It’s only $49.99. Every patriotic addict needs one.

Well there you go.

A genuine Trum lighter, you say?

Yeah, and it looks like a cheap lighter that I use for my cigars and pipes. In other words, it’s a lighter until it breaks down. Piezo-electric lighters (which this one seems to be) are notoriously unreliable, especially in high winds. Ain’t no way, for me.

Gee, Donnie—maybe you should endorse Trump Zippos. They’re windproof—oh wait, the Zippo Company is far too ethical to ever make a Trump Zippo.

I say that as a collector of Zippos. Zippo doesn’t do political.

You can’t expect a company that sells windproof items to endorse a windbag.

@Monty , you made me laugh with that one. Very well done!

The first commercial for this thing apparently was on Newsmax.

Endeavour to Persevere, My Friend.

I know this means nothing, but…

I was driving through a fairly affluent neighborhood in Sacramento. Had to go down a lot of streets over several miles. I expected many Trump signs. I saw many Harris/Waltz signs in the yards. I did not see one Trump sign.

In my own middle class neighborhood, there have been a number of Trump signs for years. Several have been taken down.
Still seeing Trump signs in the sticks and on the freeways.

My grandfather lived in a reasonably nice neighborhood in Sacramento. I wonder if you were anywhere near his house.

“Bikers For Trump” has dropped Trump from their name.

Yeah, there’s a house I pass when I leave my neighborhood that was aggressively Agent Orange-y for a long time. Lots of signs, flags, including a Gadsen flag, etc. The weirdest part of it was that the people that lived there were a black woman and a white guy. I kinda wondered what the dinner table conversation was like there.

Anyway, one day - poof! - all that stuff was gone. I don’t know if someone had a change of heart, left, or died.

But they’ll still vote for him.

This has probably been mentioned before, but if so, deal with it, because I love it! The US Attorney prosecuting Trump’s second shooter is Markenzy Lapointe, a Haitian immigrant. One hopes that he has access to some nice plump cats from his neighbours so he’s well-nourished and has the strength to win the case for the prosecution and put this guy away!

These two posts are not directly connected, but it works so well.

So Teamsters - how did that RNC appearance work out for you?

Giant Trump Marionette in Las Vegas

Phrasing!

I didn’t read the article. Are they referring to Trump’s mushroom micropenis flapping in the wind?
