Authorities have identified the attacker as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, a Texas native and former U.S. Army soldier. Jabbar, who was dressed in camouflage, full-body armor, and sporting a beard, opened fire on crowds before engaging in a shootout with police, wounding two officers in the process.

The guy in Vegas was killed. I get that some of these guys seek martyrdom but why would you blow yourself up when it’s just as easy to walk away and detonate remotely?

That’s true. The more that Terrorism is on the minds of Americans, the more Americans will call for–or at least tolerate–a true police state. (Which will not only let Donald stay in office until he dies, but also let him crucify anyone who says something mean about him. Rows and rows of crosses on the Mall!)
Yes, that’s true. As we now know (22 hours after your post), both incidents involved men who wanted to create fire and explosions.
Actually reporting now says Vegas guy killed himself with a gunshot to the head.
And he was also military, active duty but on some type of leave.

Also have seen reports that his wife recently left him. May have just been a suicide and the fire was unintentional.

Also, the driver of an 18-wheeler in SC at a traffic stop has claimed there is a bomb in the trailer. (the highway has been shut down).

How is New Orleans described? Terrorism. From the beginning. Across nearly all major American news outlets.
Those same news outlets have yet to use the “T” word for Las Vegas.
I wonder why? 
If they can try to link videogames to school shootings, I think we can also now see a clear link from US military service to domestic terrorism.
The US started with domestic terrorism, the Boston Tea Party. It’s a time honored tradition.
Don’t forget the Boston Massacre. And a future president defended the British soldiers.
