Hello, new thread.
Can you give some sort of short summary to the video you linked to?
I didn’t click on the the link, but I imagine it’s talking about the huge drop (I make out 40% in the image) of Trump meme coin after Melania Trump announced her own meme coin. So, if you were jumping on the Trump meme coin bandwagon with your money before the announcement, I’d think you just took a hefty loss.
What? Yet another shit meme coin turns out to be a way to make millions by scamming ‘’‘’‘investors’‘’‘’? I’m shocked!
Just wait until they sell the FDA and the FCC to a sports drink company.

So did Melania cut Donald off at the pass, sort-of-speak.
And will any of the offspring launch their own meme coins?
My own google search says it soared in value, multiple sites…
I don’t really follow these things so maybe this isn’t a good site but it seems to be updating in real-time:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/official-trump/
It looks like there was a big drop yesterday evening when I assume the Melania meme coin was announced and there was a smaller drop today around noon. I’ve seen headlines speculating (heh) this drop was because Trump didn’t mention his crypto coin in his address.
It is way up since it was announced, but that seems to be the point of the scam. If I’m reading the price-over-time graph correctly, it went public at $7 (1/17), peaked at $75 yesterday (1/19), and now (1/20, 6 pm) is about $40.
Just a fun fact…
Part 1 lasted 916 days
Part 2 lasted 613
Extrapolating, Part 3 should last 310 (11/26/25).
Extrapolating some more, Part 4 will only last 3 days after that. That’s the point when the 10K post limit is hit in zero time. The Schadenfreude singularity.
That is kind of fun.
Or at least the best fun we’re likely to get in the coming years.
(Thank you for doing that math!)
It’s certainly singular times we’re experiencing.
“In the beginning, a new schaudenfreude thread was coming every 916 days. Then 613, then 310. The last one was a week. In four days we could be seeing a new thread every eight hours until they’re coming every four minutes.”
My sister retired from the military and was looking for a stay-at-home job with the federal government. She had a line on a nice G12 position, but she was cut off at the knees today when Trump announced a hiring freeze and that federal workers had to come to the office. Instead of sympathizing with my sister, who told me on election day “Harris would be worse,” the first thing that ran through my head was, “What did you expect would happen?”
I don’t know if I like who I’ve become over the last eight years. Who we as a nation have become.
I don’t see how there’s any reason for schadenfreude anymore.
What sympathy is due her? She got exactly what she voted for. It’s her fault she wasn’t paying attention.

Indeed. I intend to savor every bit of Schadenfreude I can glean from the people discovering that their faces will also be eaten by the leopards.
ETA: The phrase “told you so” will no doubt get quite a workout over the next four years.
His decision to leave DOGE will leave the group in the hands of Elon Musk, the billionaire Tesla CEO and owner of X.
Once again, I don’t understand why so many people are willing to go to bat for Trump. People like Ramaswamy are more than happy to debase themselves for Trump and in the end walk away with nothing. I don’t expect his political career to go anywhere as I don’t imagine most MAGAts really care for him one way or the other.
