I wonder how hard he thought through this statement. As a pseudo-anarchist myself, I do still vote, because I understand that anarchism is somewhat challenging as a society, and we’d probably inevitably revert to some form of capitalism.
But Trump exemplifies all that is wrong with capitalism. His greed. His gaudy displays of his “weath”. When the revolution comes, he won’t be up against the gold painted wall, he will have bribed his way out with promises he will never keep.
I guess in his own way, Trump is an anarchist. Thriving in chaos he creates.
Agreed. He’s inconsistent, untrustworthy, irrational, selfish and malignant; classic CE. Few real-life people fit so neatly into the D&D alignment system as he does.
To me also. But it seems to me that that could be a way of making Trump’s precious FIFA prize look a lot less important than he seems to think it is. Imagine what would happen if we started seeing things like:
I barely remember that Kohl’s is an American grocery chain, but I admit I was confused at first and thought “What does that have to do with Helmut Kohl?”
To be fair, it’s hard to tell satire from real life at times. Imagine a corrupt sports organization giving a corrupt politician a peace prize for example. Sure sounds like satire to me.
There’s a Kohl’s just down the street from me in my small Michigan town. Traditional mid tier department store setup with a large clothing section. Think Sears or JC Penney back in the 80’s or 90’s. Or Walmart minus the grocery section.
FWIW, Kohl’s originally operated grocery stores, primarily in Wisconsin; they expanded their portfolio into department stores in the 1960s. Those grocery stores may be what @EinsteinsHund remembers.
Kohl’s sold off the grocery chain to A&P in 1983, to focus on the department store business. The Kohl’s grocery stores were finally closed down in 2003, while the department store chain has expanded, and is close to nationwide at this point.
(Also, tying this back to politics: Herb Kohl, who was the president of Kohl’s in the 1970s, later served in the U.S. Senate as a Democrat from Wisconsin.)
