A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

This is from 5 years ago. Trump cannot handle stairs or even ramps very well.

A few years ago there were reports that Putin fell down stairs and shit his pants.

Sloped surfaces must be the natural enemy of dictators.

We’ll have none of that nonsense here.

Nunavut nonsense?

Which is amusing given how they are allergic to playing on a level field.

Imagine the conspiracy theories if he suffered a fatal stairway slip.

HE WAS ASSASSINATED BY BIG STAIR!!!

How does he use Air Force one to get to Camp David? I though he used Marine One. Where would they land?

Hagerstown Regional Airport is about a half hour away from Camp David. That’s how Trump flew in just yesterday. See here:

President Donald Trump arrives on Air Force One at Hagerstown Regional Airport, in Hagerstown, Md., on his was to Camp David, Md., Sunday, June 8, 2025.

I guess he doesn’t like helicopters (since he almost died that one time in California)

No. They missed him and got his ex-wife. (Too soon?)

To paraphrase George Harrison, “I’d be quite prepared for that eventuality”

A collapsing deck chair once came to Portugal’s rescue. Won’t some stair step or bath mat please come to our aid?

(Although I suppose a monkey bite, a surfeit of eels, or “the little gentleman in the velvet waistcoat” is out of the question)

LegalEagle tries to sum up the Musk/Trump kerfuffle as best as he can in under 25 minutes.

Now, I could have posted this in the Musk thread in the Pit, or the Clusterfuck thread, but ironically enough, Devin devotes part of the beginning of the video to defining what “schadenfreude” meant. So, it was almost like he was asking me to put it here.

After going on about all the crazy stuff between Musk and Trump, he then goes on to talk about the potential consequences. He starts to talk about whether or not Trump can deport Musk. The answer is that it most certainly would not be legal. Musk cannot be deported under immigration law unless there were extreme circumstances, and the law would protect his right to stay in the US, as Musk has been an American citizen since 2002. However, Devin also points out that Trump has been deporting people in violation of the law, so who knows, he might just do it anyway.

One very flimsy excuse Trump might use is by claiming that Musk obtained his citizenship fraudulently. There are unproven (but not disproven) allegations that both Musk and his brother stayed in the US after their student visas were no longer valid, and so were here illegally prior to Musk applying for citizenship.

Another excuse Trump might use is to bring up antisemitic conspiracy theories that Musk has promoted in the past, Musk’s apparent use of the Nazi salute in front of a sympathetic audience, his reinstatement of Neo-Nazi accounts on Twitter, and Musk’s previous support of pro-Palestinian groups (at times). He could determine that this all shows Musk to be an antisemite, and Trump has deported people who supported Palestine using similar justifications.

Trump has also arbitrarily labeled people as members of dangerous foreign gangs, with absolutely zero evidence, and deported using that justification (as he did with Kilmar Abrego Garcia). Why not just make something up about Musk being a member of some gang? It worked before, and didn’t require even flimsy evidence.

On the financial front, Trump has threatened to withhold billions of dollars allocated to SpaceX by Congress on behalf of NASA and the DOD. (In 2024, there were $3.8B awarded to SpaceX through federal government contracts.) Devin pointed out that Trump has no legal basis for doing so, as that is fully controlled by Congress. However, ironically, Trump did quite a bit of this BS with the help of Elon and DOGE already during this administration. So, the very tactic that Elon engaged in with Trump could potentially be turned against him.

Now, SpaceX could sue the government to get that money, and would probably prevail (because the law would be completely on their side), but it would take a lot of time and would not see a dime until a judgement is reached.

Trump can also sic the SEC and IRS on Tesla and SpaceX. Trump loves weaponizing the government and pretty never stops doing it. The one saving grace for SpaceX is that the government currently relies on its services pretty heavily, so there’s probably only so much it can do to it. Tesla is probably screwed though.

And for more schadenfreude, Devin points out that many DOGE employees are now worried that they’re going to be fired after this nasty breakup (and the obvious impotency of DOGE itself). After all, the vast majority of people hired for that group were brought on board because they were Musk toadies in the first place. How awful for government employees to get fired, I feel so bad for those poor DOGE folks.

Devin concludes the video showing how Musk is now starting to suck up to Trump out of desperation. Eh, good luck with that Elmo.

I’ve read that Musk worked illegally during his early time in the US. Doesn’t that make him eligible for a hard reset?

Legally, no. At least not until after an extensive legal process, and even then it’s extremely unlikely. But again, Trump.

Like Melania?

Don’t bet against him. Think about how many people have - temporarily - stood against Trump for a little while, then came grovelling back and were welcomed, as long as they remain sufficiently obsequious. Kevin McCarthy. Lindsey Graham. Steve Bannon. It’s not forgiving, and it’s definitely not forgetting, and Trump will probably remain suspicious of them for the rest of their lives, but there’s a pathway back, if Elmo manages to prostrate himself sufficiently to take it.

Better yet, turn the Epstein accusation around on him and have Musk arrested for all of the illegal images that Twitter is probably absolutely full of. Even if Twitter is 100% clean, all Trump has to do is say that there’s CP there and people will believe it. Trump could absolutely sell the idea that this is why Musk paid so much money for Twitter in the first place.

Unfortunately, this is what I expect will happen. Trump likes nothing better than powerful people prostrating and humiliating themselves before him.

It’s happening – Musk is now expressing regret over the fight, according to the NY Times.

But are these DOGE kids on the US gov’t payroll? I thought the big problem with DOGE was that they weren’t ever US employees & report only to Elon.

They may report only to Musk, but lots of them are getting taxpayer-funded salaries. Wired article.
