A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

Someone is going to have to assume the role of providing $1.99 gas price signs.

Lots of people fired from US AID and the Department of Education could be rehired to do that!

Perjury Traitor Greene is fed up with the Republican Party.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has had enough of the Republican Party.

“I don’t know if the Republican Party is leaving me, or if I’m kind of not relating to the Republican Party as much anymore,” Greene told the Daily Mail. “The course that it’s on, I don’t want to have anything to do with it.”

“I just don’t care anymore,” she added.

While Greene steered clear of criticizing President Donald Trump directly, she took issue with the White House rescinding Elise Stefanik’s nomination for United Nations ambassador in favor of Mike Waltz, of Signalgate fame. In March, The Atlantic revealed that Waltz had added its editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, to a Signal chat in which top administration officials discussed plans to bomb Yemen.

“How does he get awarded after Signalgate?” Greene said.

Greene said the episode reflects Republicans’ treatment of women.

&

Greene also has issues with how the GOP “has turned its back on America First and the workers and just regular Americans.”

As evidence of this, she cited a lack of party support on a number of moves she’s made in recent months, adding she feels “I’m going alone right now on the issues that I’m speaking about.”

& (The **bolding* is mine.)

She further told the Mail Saturday she only wishes the GOP would renew its focus on curbing foreign aid, using the Department of Government Efficiency to slash federal spending, decreasing the national debt, and combating inflation.

“What happened to all those issues?” she said. “You know that I don’t know what the hell happened with the Republican Party. I really don’t.”

You and your ilk, to include your idol, fucking happened to it, you traitor.

We’re all just trying to find the guy who did this.

So they’re not quite destroying the country’s economy and reputation fast enough for her taste.

First time I’ve seen it. What does it mean?

A common meme from a Tim Robinson sketch about a man in a hot dog suit saying “we’re all just trying to find out who” [crashed the hot-dog shaped car].

I had to google him.

I’m not generally a fan of Robinson’s work, but this sketch is pretty great and definitely on point re: MTG:

There’s a similar scene in Trainspotting (the movie, not sure about the book) where Begbie throws a heavy glass off a balcony and it ends up smashing on some poor woman’s head. Begbie then comes charging down the stairs hurling insults and starting a fight with the crowd to try to find which [inconsiderate person] did this. Very MTG except for the part where Begbie actually fights instead of just talking shit.

This practise was mentioned a way back in James Micheners’s book Centennial. Didn’r make it into the miniseries.

The felon’s going to freak!

A formerRepublican politician just made a decision that will surely piss off PresidentDonald Trump.

Former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan announced on Tuesday that he has left the GOP and officiallyjoined the Democratic Party.

Duncan, who served as lieutenant governor from 2019 to 2023, made the announcement official in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution op-ed headlined “From Republican Lt. Governor To Democrat: Loving My Neighbor Is Easier Now.”

In the piece, Duncan said that the switch was a long time coming, starting “well before” Trump “tried to steal the 2020 election in Georgia,” but he admitted there wasn’t any “date on a calendar or line in the sand that points to the exact moment in time” he made up his mind to become a Democrat.

Duncan said his decision was “centered around my daily struggle to love my neighbor, as a Republican.”

Although Duncan said “there will never be a shortage of people or places to exercise the time-tested approach of loving your neighbor, regardless of race, religion, lifestyle or immigration status,” he wrote that recent decisions by his former party to cut SNAP benefits and slash Medicaid funding go against his Christian faith.

From the article: “Duncan knows he’s going to get pushback from some of his Republican friends, but hopes it’s friendly.” That seems…. unlikely.

This is the exact pressure point “love-first” Christians are using. While many Republicans only give lip service to Christian values, there are many who actually believe. There’s no Christian rebuttal to “love your neighbor” and it drives a wedge into their party.

Ahem.

The full quote is, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” So long as they identify as self-hating troglodytes, they can do anything they want!

2 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV
if any would not work, neither should he eat.

IIRC there are Republicans using that verse to defend SNAP cuts.
That’s the best thing about the Bible you can almost always find something to support any position.

That was not Jesus. That was the heretic, Saul of Tarsus.

Yeah, but he got upcycled into Paul, so everything he said is ok! /s

He got a glow-up :smirk:

…suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven…

trump could use a similar conversion.

Heh, another bible quote from the link above:

And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

In the case of the trump admin, it’s the pricks who are doing the kicking…

Trump found Jesus.

Then deported him to El Salvador.
