Yes, I’ve called both of them Brown Dog, even though the chihuahua is more blonde to light brown.
Mojo and Kaia, both boxers are frequently referred to as Fat Boy and Little Girl.
When I’m playing with his ears Mojo is insert theme music here BATDOG!
When Kaia is standing over you staring without moving she is Axe murderer.
I have a betta fish named Blurple. Sometimes, I call him Kitty or Puppy. I really don’t know why, it just happens. I also call him Bettabettabetta, but that makes a little more sense.
Ronon is a longhair orange cat. My ex-husband was visiting once and nicknamed him Cheeto Stinkyfeet, which we still call him from time to time.
Pixie (cat) is also known as My Little Princess and other such drecky names.
Cory (cat) is called Big Guy sometimes, but mostly just Cory or Cor-cor.
We had female Lab name Delilah who ended up being called Dude.
Also, derived from the name, but different, our cat named Forklift. The kids in the apartment building thought his name was Forklips, and eventually that shortened into Lips. Lips was a really cool cat.
Our current Labrador, Patience, is sometimes referred to as “Crazypants”.
Her predecessor, a Lab named Bessie, had a variety of nicknames including (in honor of her capacity for creating disasters as a pup) Andrea Labradoria.
2 cats - Diego and Serafina.
I call them “The Woos” I don’t know why. As in Who’s a Kitty-Woo? or Look at da Woos.
Diego is the meowallotamous

My cat Ponch is often called boo-boo, boo-boo kitty or boo-kitty.

OTOH, my cat Stryper is always just “Stryper” or as a nick, “Strypie”;
Occasionally, when I’m up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, or carrying laundry down the steep basement steps and he’s under my feet because he thinks I should be feeding him, his nick name is “Goddamned pain in the ass cat”! 
Zebulon is known as Bunyip Boy (reference to a kids’ show of the early '60s, Bertie the Bunyip – that’s him on the left) and the Chunky Monkey.
Jezebel is Mini Minx or The Lemur.
Two calico cats, neither of which I have anymore:(, one was killed by wild dogs and the other got lost (?) after we moved. But while we had them
Female Rylie Sue we called Stinker. Cause she just smelled when she was little
Female Kylie Sue we called Booger Butt. She was just mean. She scared grown men!
I miss them both.

My wife rescued a cat from a horrible setting, and her name was Shadow. We consider that her slave name.
Bonita was the name I came up with (was practicing Spanish a lot then)
