Oliver, cat, M - sweetheart, bitey face, piglet (this cat eats more than anything I’ve ever seen. I once went away for the weekend and left out 4 days worth of food and came back half an hour later to get a bag that I forgot and found that he had eaten 4 days worth of food in 30 minutes and then vomited it back up all over the floor!)

I can’t resist puns in cat names for some reason.

Mesabi: Sabi, Ding-Dong (because he’s such a ding-dong), Nursy (when we got him and his brother, he would nurse on anyone; he’ll still try to nurse on my wife’s clothing when he’s really relaxed and happy).

Tuscany: Tusc, Tusca-duska, Needy (if he isn’t picked up and held for long enough when I get home, he’ll follow me around mewling desperately)

The pun in the brothers’ names I leave to the reader.

Five: Nuprin. She was very yellow when we got her, and the tiny kitten contrasted sharply with the older cat we had that time. Little, yellow, different; Nuprin.

The pun in her name is obvious to IT geeks everywhere.

We have two female Maine Coon cats named Daphne and Velma.

For unknown reasons, my wife started calling Daphne “Daphne Doo-doo” and it stuck. Now she’s usually just “Doo-doo.”
Velma is often referred to as “Monkey” for reasons that would be obvious if you knew her.

Gizmo, dog,M: Gizzy, Gizzer, Schligider Doo (No idea how that last one came about)
Buddy, dog,M: Beans, Two Beany, Crustini, Peener
Socks, cat,M: Kitty, Pretty Kitty, Pritty Titty

Dolly, dog, F: Dolly B (our last initial), Miss Dolly, doggy

Boris, cat: Bor-bor, borborygmi, vomit kitty, bad kitty, Sir Fuzzbutt, Furry purry, Motorboat
Natasha, cat: Tasha, Tash-tash, Hamentashen, Catentashen, Princess, Principessa. Fat girl

All cats.

Havoc - BBW, Meatloaf, Havoc Nigila
Pixel - Pix-pix, Pixie-poo, Ebony Retriever, Pixelicious, Ninja Assassin
Caelan - Little Boy, Stop that, Big Brother, Leave her alone
Brindle - Chub-chub, Baby, Little girl, Munchkin

All are known as Stinker when apropos.

Dogs:
Skippy (min-pin): monkey, prince skip, gimpster (if he’s hurt)
Samson (min-pin mix): puppy, fluffy, libary assistant (like library assistant, only he’s a dog, so he “says” li-berry)
Otter (terrier mix): buttley, the butt, buddy, smelly, stinky, mama’s boy

(Otter is of course where I get my username, so that will suck in about 3-4 yrs, and I’ll probably have to change names)

Cats: now deceased
Smokey: Mr. Cat
Wyatt: Puddin’ cat
