Name of pet, type of pet, gender of pet (optional), nickname(s), other relevant/amusing details (if desired).
Me:
Buddy, dog, m, Mr. B, The B-Person, B-Bud, B-Buddy Dogpie
Sweetie, dog, f, Sweetie-Pop, Sweetster, Sweetie-Mop
Max, cat, m, Maxito Pie Kitty-Baby, Mr. Maxito, Maxer-Waxer
Cleo, cat, f, Clee, Cleestie, Cleestie-Mop, The Bitch on Wheels
Koira, dog, F - smooshy face, little bit, stinky butt (she is a french bulldog, smooshy face and stinky butt are about the most accurate nicknames she could possibly have)
Oliver, cat, M - sweetheart, bitey face, piglet (this cat eats more than anything I’ve ever seen. I once went away for the weekend and left out 4 days worth of food and came back half an hour later to get a bag that I forgot and found that he had eaten 4 days worth of food in 30 minutes and then vomited it back up all over the floor!)
Joey, cat, M - sweet face, sir-cries-a-lot, joey-joe-joe
Boomer, beagle, male: boom-boom-boom-boom (said as if it were the first four notes of a bass line scale); my little buddy (said in the voice of Alan Hale, Jr. as the Skipper)
Misty, beagle, female: misty-girl
Brownie, shorthair tabby, female: brown-eye, the f’ing cat (as in “The f’ing cat scratched me again”). Yeah, not the world’s most socialized cat but I love her.
Ginnie, long hair, mixed breed cat, female: Ms. Weasley
Mesabi: Sabi, Ding-Dong (because he’s such a ding-dong), Nursy (when we got him and his brother, he would nurse on anyone; he’ll still try to nurse on my wife’s clothing when he’s really relaxed and happy).
Tuscany: Tusc, Tusca-duska, Needy (if he isn’t picked up and held for long enough when I get home, he’ll follow me around mewling desperately)
The pun in the brothers’ names I leave to the reader.
Five: Nuprin. She was very yellow when we got her, and the tiny kitten contrasted sharply with the older cat we had that time. Little, yellow, different; Nuprin.
The pun in her name is obvious to IT geeks everywhere.
We have two female Maine Coon cats named Daphne and Velma.
For unknown reasons, my wife started calling Daphne “Daphne Doo-doo” and it stuck. Now she’s usually just “Doo-doo.”
Velma is often referred to as “Monkey” for reasons that would be obvious if you knew her.
Gizmo, dog,M: Gizzy, Gizzer, Schligider Doo (No idea how that last one came about)
Buddy, dog,M: Beans, Two Beany, Crustini, Peener
Socks, cat,M: Kitty, Pretty Kitty, Pritty Titty
