A Presidential Poll for the Rest of Us

Well, since the thread is about to die, I thought I’d do a quick tally.

Kerry = 27
Bush = 12

Granted, closer than my original poll but… still!!! :confused:

Over Double!!!

I must qualify my answer. I live in the District. If Bush put a D next to his name on the ballot he would win. I am thus free to make a statement. If the vote counted for anything then:

Kerry

Because it doesn’t

Lugar or McCain

Kerry.

Time for the resident conservatives to nail themselves to the cross and whine about how the SDMB is slanted further left than the Tower of Pisa. :wink:

I don’t have to say it. The polls here speak for themselves.

That’s only if you assume all the folks voting for Kerry are “liberals”, a fallacy that you personally know is false.

But hey, don’t let me interrupt your hammering there…

I think the Liberal running this year is Paul Martin.

But I’m voting for Layton. I’ve always liked him, although he thinks too highly of unions.

So. anything else to say on this topic? Or, do we concede that as of right now, over half the voter will vote for Kerry?

Presumably it’ll be the left half of “the voter”. :wink:

Seriously though, all we can conclude is that over half of the people who responded to this thread will voter for Kerry. We might also be able to reasonably assume that over half the Americans registered to vote who belong to the boards will vote for Kerry. Assuming that the Straight Dope is representative of the entire country is another matter altogether.

I’ll be voting for Kerry. I’m not entirely happy about it, as I don’t consider myself a Democrat and dislike some of his concessions to the Right, but I really, really, really, really, really, REALLY don’t like George Bush. If Nader were running with the Green Party, I’d wait to see what the polls in Illinois looked like to make a decision, but as it stands right now, Kerry has my vote.

Wish I could in good conscience vote for Bush, but…

Nadar.
