A Question about Movie "Studio 54"

In the Ryan Philippe movie (which was pretty good (IMHO), there is a brief scene which showed a young man, dressed ans an angel, flying about the disco (he was delivering coke or a message). Did this really happen?
Man, it is hard to belive that the disco era was so long ago!
Are we ready for a dico revival? That do you 20-somethings think?

It doesn’t sound that implausible. Weirder costumes were commonplace at the Studio. But a decade or so later later, in New York’s “Club Kids” scene in the 90s, a drug dealer named Angel Melendez wore (as a trademark) a harness with angel wings. He was brutally and infamously murdered by Michael Alig, and the story was chronicled in an article in Details magazine, a book and at least two movies, most famously Party Monster starring Macauley Culkin.

Melendez wasn’t part of the Studio 54 crowd–he was born circa 1971–but may have been the inspiration for the character you describe.
