I have always heard of men raping women.
I have often heard of men raping men.
I have occasionally heard of women raping women…
However, I have yet to hear of a woman raping a man. Have there ever been any such verified incidents and legally-tried cases?
(I am not referring to statutory rape, e.g. that schoolteacher woman who got knocked up by a male teen student.)
This is not at all funny to me. Someone very close to me was raped for his very first sexual experience. He wanted to at first, then realized he wasn’t ready for it, but he had an erection and it wouldn’t go away. Lets face it, guys, how much control did you have over your nether region at age 14? Well, by the time that bitch was done, he had a fractured pelvis. Fourtunatly, he doesn’t seem to have many issues about it, except for a fear of inedvertantly forcing a woman to do something she doesn’t want to. God that man is resilient.
I am not a legal scholar, and I have no idea if there are any tried cases of this nature. However, I see no reason why it wouldn’t be possible for a woman to rape a man, even if we limit the definition of rape to include only intercourse, and not other things like forced or coerced touching, licking, etc.
The reasons are rather obvious:
An erect penis does not mean an aroused man. It is certainly possible to have an erection while not wanting sex of any kind. You don’t hear people saying, “Well, she got a little damp, so it wasn’t really rape.”
Even if a man has an erection, and is aroused, he does not neccessarily want sex. Imagine a man who is asleep, and a woman rapes him in his sleep. His body would respond to her actions, and he would probably get an erection, even though he might not want sex at all.
I’m sure there’s more, but I did find these cases:[ul]
[li]Woman rapes man, court told - “Dawes, 26, Norman James Townsend, 28, and Michael Joseph Lloyd, 33, all of Miles, are jointly charged with the rape of the man, who cannot be named, after a bucks night in the early hours of August 16, 1998.” In Australia.[/li][li]Women Who Rape - “The first woman in Spokane County to be convicted of raping a man could face up to 30 years in prison. A seven-woman; five-man Superior Court jury on Friday found Theresa S. guilty of first-degree rape and second degree assault. Theresa S., 36, was accused of torturing the 42 year old man at her east Spokane apartment from September to January. The victim was punched, chained, burned, raped, and threatened with a knife. He finally escaped and called police on January 17.” From the Daily Olympian Sunday, June 29, 1997[/li][li]Rwandan Woman Charged with Rape - “For the first time in history, a woman has been charged with rape as a crime against humanity, a UN spokesman said yesterday.” From THE EDMONTON SUN (13 August 1999)[/ul][/li]The second link includes a slew of similarly themed links about females who have raped, commited sexual crimes against minors who were pupils, friends or even their own kids, of both genders. Not classic cases of a “rape” as the OP hints at (and as the other cites I think show) but it certainly shows that women can be just as fucked up as men can be.

A buddy of mine in my first year was raped by a girl … no need to go into the details (none of your business - he told me in total confidence and in tears). Suffice it say that the penis can be made erect through a number of means - only some of them pleasureable and desired.
I’ve always believed that males are more inherently -sexual- than women. And I dare anyone to disagree with me!
But that doesn’t mean a rape against a man, by a woman, cannot be done. I imagine it would follow along the same vein as a man raping another man.
Let A:
A woman lusts for a male.
Let B:
A (gay or seriously depraved) male lusts for a male.
Let C:
A man could be raped.
If B then C.
B --> C (Modus Ponens)
then it also stands to reason that if A then C because the instinctive sexual attraction is shared.
A --> C
I guess the short reasoning is that it -can- happen–and that it does happen. It just takes a woman who’s pig-headed enough to do it. And they -do- exist.

There’s always statutory rape, where the male might be willing, but underage. That what they got Letorneaux (sp?) on. She’s the teacher who had a child by one of her 12-year-old students, got put in jail, paroled on the condition that she never see him, was then found alone in a car with him (just talking), then was found pregnant again.
…I lived in New Orleans. I remember going thru the paper and looking at the POLICE REPORTS section. There was a case of 3 women raping a man. I remember it 'cause it was so unusual, especially for a city where rape and homicide happen on a daily basis.
I believe the paper was the States-Item (now defunct) and this was sometime in the mid to late 70s.
Okay, I’ll jump into the fray. Just what do you mean by this?
I’m sure it wasn’t your intent to equate being gay with serious depravity (was it?), but isn’t that rather what this statement is doing? Last I heard, depravity was the only reason for rape, and it was largely a separate issue from sexual orientation.
Everything I’ve read about rape (granted, mostly from victim’s-rights groups and the like) has linked rape with power, rather than sex. Care to comment?
Are we only talking vaginal penetration here? Because if not, I could certainly see where a woman sodomizing a man with a strap-on (or whatever) against his will would be rape.
I don’t agree that saying “A or C” equates A with C. I do agree that Ashtar’s post was clumsily worded, but I don’t think it was intentionally or implicitly homophobic.

I thought the same thing, Myron. I remember reading, I think in News of the Weird, recently about such a case where rape was considered, but eventually rejected.
This might be an urban legend (has all the makings of one), but supposedly a man brought rohypnol (sp?) to a college bar, met up with a girl, and slipped it into her drink. However, some confusion followed, and the man ended up drinking THE WRONG DRINK. The woman then proceeded to take him back to her dorm room and have at him with a strapon. IIRC, the man considered pressing charges for rape, but in the end (sorry, bad pun) was convinced it would be in his best interests not to.
I don’t remember the story saying if the woman did this because she figured out about the rohypnol and wanted to teach him a lesson, or if she uses a strapon regularly and thought she had a willing/noncomplaining male. I find the story much more amusing if it’s a revenge/lesson kinda thing.
You learned this in your “womens studies” class, no doubt? Cecil has recently debunked some of the lies of modern feminism, but you can read more at http://www.debunker.com/patriarchy.html .
Well, there are cases of sodomy . . . cases where older female relative molests children or grandchildren . . .
As for trying the case legally . . . it happens, and has been covered in this thread already. When one is too young to be able to verbally express it, it’s a bit hard to press charges.
[slight hijack] this reminds me of one of the most disgusting rape cases I’ve hear about. In davis (my former home town) a 19 year old raped a 16 year old. First he choked her unconscious, then he raped her. The judge ruled, that since she was “asleep”, it wasn’t rape. That’s right, she didn’t say NO, so it wasn’t rape. Makes me want to vomit just thinking about it. Blech. Luckily he was removed from the bench shortly after.[end slight hijack]
and yes I’ve read cases of women raping men, vaginally and with instruments.
I remember a sit-com in the mid or early 80s, it had an older couple (the father had white hair), an adult or late-teenage daughter, and a really goofy neighbor guy who had a crush on the daughter. I think it may have been a spin-off from some other series, was set in San Francisco and the opening credits had a shot of the Golden Gate bridge…does anyone remember the name of this one? Anyway, I remember an episode where the goofy guy and the the father were raped by a couple of fat women they encounter in a bar. It was messed up, they treated it both as a serious issue (Yes, men can be raped and it’s not funny) yet they also treated it as funny…
