A Question about the Shaq Trade

It was ruled in December that on March 8th the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat have to replay the last 52 seconds of a game, due to a scoring error saying that Shaq had fouled out when he hadn’t.

Shaq, now, isn’t even on Miami. I haven’t heard anything on ESPN and a quick google search hasn’t helped me either. I’m hoping they’ll just forget about the whole thing now; it was completely ridiculous to begin with.

But, for the sake of knowledge, has anyone heard anything with regards to this?

Oh, and a link to the original story, too

Well, here’s a link to an espn.com story about whether the players that Miami picked up can play. Basically, nobody knows and the NBA has to make a decision.

I think they should either:

  1. Let Shaq go back and play for Miami for that one game, since his incorrect foulout is the only reason they’re replaying it anyway. (Note, however, that the chances of this actually happening are pretty much slim and none.)

  2. Drop the whole thing, since Shaq’s foulout is the only reason they’re replaying it anyway, and he’s not with the Heat anymore.
