My parents gave me some Waterford tumblers for Christmas (and a Waterford cat a couple of years ago). They all have the seahorse mark etched on them, but they also have a green and gold logo sticker. Not that I have any plans to sell any of it, but for the sake of preserving the value of the pieces, how important if at all is it to attempt to preserve the stickers?
I know nothing of ebay or reselling stuff, but IMO, take the stickers off and enjoy the tumblers.
I like the weight and feel of most Waterford–or crystal/fine stemwear in general.
I don’t recall a seahorse on my Waterford goblets etc (Ballyshannon pattern)–but it’s been a few decades.
Maybe google Waterford and collectible and see what you get?
Yeah, I’ll enjoy drinking my $8 a jug vodka out of my $80 glass.
Drink ten of those jugs and you won’t even notice anymore. For a couple of reasons!
Ah, but those $80 glasses will make that $8 vodka taste like $80 vodka!
(that’s what I’m told, anyway!)
Check out the stuff on ebay–if it’s got the labels on–keep 'em on.
For collectable stuff in general, the closer you keep it to NIB the greater its value. For stuff that has packaging, the packaging itself adds value.
