Recently (about two weeks ago), I got my eyebrow pierced. It’s something I’ve always thought about, and I decided what the hell! Mine as well go for it! (Sidenote: I have this fear about looking stupid in public, so my clothing style is very GAP/preppy. However, I have some wild jewelry and yearn to express my originality and creativity. The piercing was a way to do that.)
So my question is, Do you percieve people with piercings any differently? If you see a girl with a eyebrow ring, so you think, “Wow! What a freak!” Or “She’s hip and edgy!” Or “What a loser!” What response to body/facial piercings trigger in your psyche?
I think its kinda neat actually. I’d never go get one myself just cuz I’m a wuss and besides I never felt the need. (I might get a tattoo eventually though…)
As long as its not going way overboard with lots of peircings or whatnot and its for yourself not to follow the crowd I say its cool.
Depends on the person with the ring. It’s common enough that it affects me about the same as an ear piercing. Neither good nor bad. Although if you have really cool spiked eyebrow piercings I’d think you were a “hottie”. I think bars are much better than rings.
I have no opinion of eyebrow piercings, but lip piercings just look, IMHO, kinda of begging… like the person is REALLY begging for attention… but oh well… haha
Speaking as an old fart who will be hiring a young person in a couple months, excessive piercings are pretty gross. And I’m a lot more open-minded about these things than most people.
Piercings really dont cause me to react too much. If I see a labret, or a nice looking eyebrow, i’m apt to say “neat-o”, but no negativity. too many may make me think “woah” but that’s about it. Studs in the nose were very common among the black girls in HS, so I really dont notice them much at all. For eyebrows, bars are MUCH better than rings. Rings stick out too much. I actually find piercings cool, even though I dont have any of my own (not even my ears). I do have tattoos, though.
Eyebrow piercings are ok, as long as it’s just one. I don’t really have any reaction - maybe it’s because piercings are so common, I don’t even notice half the time. I doubt anyone would think you looked stupid with it, though. Even with the ring, N4, you’ll still be cute.
I think it is a little strange, but if an adult wants to do it…their business. The only ones that really disgust me are the genital piercings and the people with a LOT of peircings 15+, say) in their face.
I don’t like most of them. This is coming from someone with 7 pierces in her ears, so take it as you will. I dunno. They just always looked kinda dumb to me. I’m ok with nose, bellybutton and tongue. I’ve never seen an eyebrow or lip pierce that looked attractive to me yet. And lets please not discuss genital piercings.
Anyway, it doesn’t look unique or different to me since half of my school has jewelry sticking out of their eyebrows or lips.

I think my ring looks pretty cute (I can’t change it for another 6 weeks, then I am going to get a small silver hoop with a blue ball). I have seen people looking scraggly with it but I think it complements me ok.

Anyway, so let me tell you what my piercer said! His name was Little Bob and he had dreadlocks and bull horns coming out of his nose. There was an autographed Brad Pitt photo on the wall and it looked real. So I asked about it and he said he peirced Brad’s genetalia! (They filmed Seven locally, I believe. There was a big ta-doo about it and I cut school in eighth grade to see filming.) The dude had pics of all sorts of gential and nipple piercings, so I believed him…

Honestly, with the exception of the ears and navel, I don’t find piercings very attractive. Where I am living I do not see them very often. And when I do see a tongue, ear or lip piercing (for example) it doesn’t strike me as appealing. But that’s just me – guy A. I’m sure there’s plenty of guy Bs out there that get turned on by that sort of thing…
