A Question for Straight Guys Regarding Lesbians

I agree completely with blowero and rand 100.

One of the reasons I prefer lesbian porn is that much of hetero porn is designed to reinforce gender stereotypes. The male is always dominant. He’s lustful and strong, and he initiates and controls the sex act. The female is submissive, and her excessive makeup, fake boobs, oversized hair, and ridiculous high heels make her look like a clown. Rather than being an active, challenging sexual partner, her sole purpose is to boost the male ego. She squeals about how big his dick is and she begs him to have mercy on her. Through the entire act, she remains passive and stationary. The climax, which usually involves the guy jizzing all over her face or body, only serves to further humiliate her.

No offence to those who like this kind of stuff, but watching a woman being “put in her place” is not the least bit erotic to me. Eroticism goes beyond dominance and submission for me. I want to see tenderness, love, sensuality, intimacy, excitement, and mutual pleasure. I want to see women who enjoy sex, who actively pursue sex, and who aren’t content with their traditional passive role as jizz receptacle. More often than not, I have to turn to lesbian porn to find this.

Well, let me ask you, Dirty Earthworm, do you think those Hustler women doing it to each
other are REAL lesbians? Heh. Come on, its a magazine. I don’t think a lot of guys would
get turned on watching Andrea Dworkin for example.

Anyway, magazine women doing it with each other don’t float my boat. Most of the time in
real life, lesbians are attracted to me & I don’t wantto watch them with anyone…

It’s simple: let’s say I’m a heterosexual male looking to rent a porno, and I have two choices: one is a film of a woman and a man having sex, and one is a film of two women having sex. Being heterosexual, I have no interest in seeing a naked man, so if I rent the hetero porn, I’m wasting half my money on somebody I don’t want to see naked. Economics is the answer to everything.

Seriously, though, I have a major lesbian fetish. When I first, uh, “discovered Mr. Happy,” I almost exclusively practiced to the thoughts of women with women, and I never imagined myself personally involved in the action. Although my tastes have broadened since then, regular straight porn still doesn’t do anything for me. There’s got to be something at least a little kinky or queer, or it just doesn’t hold my interest. So personally, I agree with rand 100’s explanation (which, btw, is a great summation of something I’ve been trying to articulate for years with little success). Which doesn’t mean that any of the other explanations are invalid, just that human sexuality is so incredibly varied that no one explanation is going to cover everybody, or even a majority of them.

Heterosexual? Check.

Turned on by two beautiful men having sex? Check! I can’t think of anything sexier than that. You’re probably not looking in the right places. A simple google search on ‘slash fanfiction’ should help you on your way ;).

Matt_mcl already mentioned so-called ‘slash fiction’, which is something I’m a huge fan of, except that my ‘fandom’ is The Sentinel and not something like Star Trek. Most of the stuff is written by heterosexual women and it is gaining more popularity each day. Name any book, show or movie and there will be slash written for it.

So yes, there are definitely women out there who enjoy the male/male stuff.

one scoop of ice cream is good. two scoops is better, and a sundae with chocholate and (my) nuts on top is the best!

I scream, you scream, we all denounce Jesus for Ice Cream!

Never have I seen such synchronicity, such collusion between post and sig. Bravo, gatopescado.

No, actually, I don’t, but for all I know they could be. Besides, is porn supposed to be realistic? For any plumbers out there, when was the last time you went to a female customer’s house and gave her other pipes a good cleaning??

My sister is a ‘real’ lesbian, and nobody has ever accused anyone in my family of being a supermodel, but if I even mention the fact that my sister dates women, well, let the mouth-foaming begin. “Dude, she looks like me, except with tits,” I’ll say; generally the response is, “I don’t care what she looks like! Lesbians are hot!”

And that kind of brings me to my next point. I have been told by my lesbian-fetish friends (‘fetish’ used for lack of a better term) that the reason I can’t get into girl-on-girl porn is because of the fact that my sister is a lesbian. That makes no sense to me; after all, I can watch a guy and a girl have sex knowing full-well that I have a sister and two brothers. I am not associating what I see on my screen with relatives - that’s a whole different fetish altogether. I can also get totally into two girls and a guy (again, the whole ‘relating to the penis’ thing) when the two women are doing stuff to each other.

With the responses to this thread, I kinda-sorta understand where the lesbian-loving guys are coming from (no pun intended ;)), even though I still don’t “get it.” Then again, I suppose asking a question like “Why do lesbians turn you on?” is on par with asking “Why does your particular fetish get you all hot’n’bothered?” Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

-Dirty, who watches way too much porn

I would truly love to have something interesting to add to this thread, but I have very little experience with women (says the married guy) and I don’t like porn in the least.

Like any other guy (I won’t disclude gay guys because I’m sure some of them thought about it at some point) I have given in to fits of imaginative female coupleing. I personally have no idea what the stimulus is, but it sure works.

Women are lovely creatures. Curvy and soft, yet can be incredibly fierce and passionate.

(A lot of this will revolve around my wife - the one with all the experience) I was talking to my wife about this one nigh not long ago … I told her I couldn’t imagine myself passionately kissing a man for one good reason: Scruff.

I said, “You know that scruff you feel every time you give me a kiss? Well the idea of being scraped up by some other guys scruff just makes we queezy.”

Women, on the other hand, are just soooo smoothe and soft … [a-hem]. Where was I? Oh yes …

My wife, along with being infinately more practiced at sex than I, is also a practiced bisexual. She has had many times more experience with women than I have. A fact that I lement constantly.

At a party a good two or three years ago, there was this couple we knew - they were rather annoying people with little concern for what people thought of them - even when I wanted to beat them to death with a shovel.

At one point, I don’t recall why exactly, as we were all plastered, but my wife bent over the female of the couple - who was sitting on a sofa - and gave her a fantastic french kiss.

I was standing not three feet away and my brain short-circuited. Really. I thought I was going to faint.

That was the closest thing to actual g-g action I have ever seen, and it was amazing.

Thus ends my tirade. I hope you have all enjoyed this brief glimps into my pathetic life.

Think I’ll have another cup of coffee now …

Add me to the list of people who were disappointed that this thread wasn’t with regards to real actual lesbians or anything.

Exactly! I never think about it as “lesbian” sex. I just imagine I could join in, and have them work ME over like they’re working each other over.

I think that you’re mischaracterizing the fantasy so many of us have. It’s not about watching lesbian sex, it’s about us having sex with two women at once.

I was once invited to join in a “three way”. But one of the two others was a man, and I hadn’t even had sex with the woman one-on-one, and the idea made me uncomfortable, and I declined. If it had been two WOMEN inviting me, I would have BEEN THERE!

You didn’t ask me? I’m insulted!

I would’ve said “yes.”

Silly boy. But I love ya anyway.

Oh, and to explain the appeal…in my case it’s mostly “wow…there are two hot guys…and they’re NAKED! Kickass.” It’s not “I can really relate to this guy…”

Of course, I’m talking about the idea of it. I’ve never, um, watched actual porn. M/F, F/F or M/M. Or any combination thereof. But slash…::Drools::

We’re a minority? Maybe we should band together and demand equal rights.

Come to think of it, guys get “lesbian” movies made just for them, but we have to settle for pornography made for gay men.

I being oppressed!

The first time I saw this in real life - WOOHAH! And the girls weren’t even that hot, it’s just their reaction to the sex was genuine!

The second time, the girls were hotter, and it was absolutely the best viewing experience of my life! Man I wish I coulda joined in!

The subsequent times (not very many) weren’t so hot, I think I started looking at it too clinically.

Anyway, it’s a combination of things - bodies, sex, sensuality, and the idea of joining in. Yep.
