A complained some time ago about a Windows 98 update that resulted in exceedingly slow shut-down time. Well, it wasn’t the update I guess.
I installed Norton System Doctor at about the same time as the update showed up. I defragged my hard drive yesterday and to do so I have to close System Doctor. When I shut down Windows 98 afterwards shut-down time was not nearly so long as with that program not running.
Apologies to Microsoft make my stomach hurt, but I suppose I’ll get over it in a year or two.
