Mm, I eagerly await your report on the chipotle mac & cheese, susan. I thought that sounded pretty good. I did that Excel thing keeping track of my recipes in 2003. I made something like 80 or 90 new recipes that year.
Since I’ve been slacking, I haven’t bothered to keep track.
I cannot imagine chipotle mac and cheese as being anything short of fantaaaabulously nummy. I got a feeling s_f is gonna be badgered big time for that recipe. I’m all tingly just thinking about it.
Okay Swampy, that is just beyond the pale…first nanners and mayo and now this. C’mere a sec…let me check your forehead…are you running temp? No? What can explain this madness? Is this a regional or Southern thing? My oogied out meter is on red now, do you hear? Red!
Now, doughnuts or cake dipped in coffee…I can see this, but the above? No flippin’ way. On the other hand, although I like the taste of say a good real german spice cake (made the german way; not the American way) dipped in coffee, I can’t bring myself to do it. That would ruin the coffee because the soggy crumbs and stuff would be in there. Nope, just can’t do it.
The chipotle mac sounds very interesting…I’d like to see the recipe for that too.
Finally, I like chocolate milk. In fact, when I was pregnant (both times) I would drink chocolate milk in place of white milk. 'Course, the milk had to be super, super, superity chocolately. I didn’t even want a taste of that “white” milk flavor. By drinking chocolate milk I could honestly state to my OB that I taking in my required intake of milk.
The honey in deviled eggs was something that happened all accidental like. See, I was making deviled eggs to take somewhere’s about 15 years ago now. I reached into the cabinet above the counter where I had my deviled egg concoction mixed up to get some paprika. I bumped the little honey bear and he jumped outta the cabinet into my deviled egg concoction. His little cap wasn’t all the way screwed on tight so when I got him out a little bit of honey spilled out. I think my exact words at that time were:
%&( #@! and #&^%!@#%###
or something like that. Anyways, I went ahead and stuffed the eggs with the honeyed up concoction and took em on to where I was goin. MMMMMMMM… they said. MMMMMMMM… swampy these deviled eggs are some good eats! Ever since I always put just a little bit of honey in my deviled eggs.
Homebrew Oreos in coke? Oreos? That’s what Chips Ahoy’s are for. The peanuts in the coke thing though, mmmmmmmm… love em in Dr. Pepper too.
You know what’s really good in chicken soup? Toasted cheese bagels. And flour tortillas. But maybe not at the same time. No tomato soup for me though.
Nutella is good on sourdough bread because it cuts the sweetness. But even better, somebody bring me pain au chocolate-- the croissant kind of roll with a piece of chocolate in the center. Please? I won’t put it on my teeth, I promise.
Hey! My sour cream apple pie was pretty good. Nobody’s dead yet anyway. Basically, you take a couple of eggs and some sour cream and stir them into a regular apple pie recipe. But why can I not make a really good pie crust? My grandmother’s infallible recipe fails me. Multiple viewings of Alton Brown’s crust episode has improved my results only moderately. I’m going to force people to eat my pie crusts until I learn, no matter how long it takes.
Oreos should be dunked in milk only. Nothing should ever be placed in soda. Because Coke tastes like ass, that’s why. Except for the very first ice cold sip on a really hot day. The rest; ass!
I don’t remember the commercial, nor do I intend to dishwasher my chandelier. It works just peachy keen on the dishes, thankyewveddymuch, and that’s all I need to know.
In other news, my booooooring 3-day training class is over. And I decided to take Friday off so my sweetie and I would have a longer long weekend. So I just have to make it through tomorrow. Unless I call in sick <koff koff>
FCM, Hope your TDY wasn’t as rushed as mine will be. Was told last Friday I’m to go TDY. Sent appropriate information to funding activity. Got confirmation of their receipt of required info.
Status: Still need funding letter from org sponsoring TDY. Have asked about it, was promised it would be here today. It’s now 1615 hrs and still don’t have letter. Can’t complete TDY orders w/out it. TDY orders will then need to be approved by RMD and Commander. Need TDY orders so I can activate my gov tvl card and get my e-tickets.
I’m down to two working days to get this done. Monday is a holiday.
I’m supposed to fly out this coming Tuesday morning and return Wednesday night. I’m going to be one tired person come Thursday when I return to work.
Bleah! I just don’t even want to go, but need to.
Yeah, I know, I’m whining, but I’m in a pissy mood. Indulge me, if only briefly.
There, all done whining. In fifteen minutes I can head home and make homemade chicken noodle soup.
Thankfully, I wasn’t TDY. I just had to walk across the street. For this one, anyway. I may have to go to Houston next month - we don’t know yet if there’s enough training funds for the 8 of us who have to go.
I hate TDY. Last week, I FINALLY got reimbursed for a TDY I had to Miami. Last JUNE!!! I only had to submit my claim three times… idiots…
I like nutella but I mostly use it on fruit, ice cream or in recipes. Nutella and nanners! Now we’re talking.
I don’t like drinking white milk much either. I think I was also soured on milk by being made to drink the lukewarm milk in the school cafeteria. However, I will drink it with chocolate, chocolate cake or choc chip cookies hot from the oven (but the milk must be very cold). The milk cuts the sweetness and chocolate.
I have to admit that in all the times (a total of about 5 maybe 6 times) I’ve had to go TDY, I’ve never had a problem with the reimbursement. Even in the earlier years. Now, I simply mark split disbursement on my settlement voucher and I don’t even have to worry about getting the check and then sending it in to BOA.
I may have to go to San Diego for a week in March. That might be interesting; we’ll see. My favorite place to go TDY is San Antonio. The Riverwalk is loads of fun.
For the current upcoming TDY next week I have to go to Phoenix. However, if that blankety-blank funding letter doesn’t get here tomorrow or by Friday first thing in the AM I’m going tell my boss I’m cancelling. It’s not worth the damn hassle and I’m NOT putting it on my personal credit card. Mr. Taters is most emphatic that I absolutely, positively, without a doubt, WILL NOT, WILL NOT put on our credit card. Oh well.
FCM and Taters are Tracking Down Yetis. Apparently they retire in Phoenix and that’s why Taters has to go there next week.
In other news:
I’ve never had Nutella. I’ve never even noticed it at the store. Maybe I’ll look next time I shop. If I think about it. The chances of which are kinda slim.
