A scene in Groundhog's Day.

I watched a little Gorundhog’s Day last night.

For the life of me, I can never remember him dressing up like Clint Eastwood and going to a movie with a woman. A random woman. . .not Nancy, because Nancy walks by in that scene.

Tell me I’m not crazy. Has that scene always been in the movie?

Yep. AFAIK. It’s been there in every version I’ve seen.

But I can’t comment on you being crazy.

Yep. One adult, one child.

Isn’t the Radom Woman dressed in a French maid outfit?
“I thought you said we were going to a costume party?!”

Yes, she is.

IIRC, Phil says something to the ticket taker like, “one adult and one. . . ?” (looks at woman)

the woman says something and he goes, “two adults”.

The timing of it is right on.

I’ve seen that movie countless times, and I don’t remember that scene at all.

Of course, it has been several years since I’ve seen it, so…

I remember that scene and I just saw The Good, the Bad and the Ugly for the first time this year.

Bought it on DVD recently, and yes, it’s there. Just one of those random scenes to show how much control Phil gains over town as he gets to learn how everybody and everything is controlled that certain day.

I’ve got this vague feeling like sometimes I’ve seen it, sometimes I’ve not - I’m guessing that some TV stations may chop it when they’re looking to fill in more commercials.

“Like I toldja, I love this movie”

Do you remember what the movie was?

IINM

You must’ve stepped away for popcorn or a bio break. I do that A LOT with movies. “Where the hell did THAT come from??”

That’s why I refuse to watch movies on commercial stations. The camel’s back straw for me came when TNT showed Overboard and cut the galley scene between Joanna and Andrew near the end of the film. I mean, holy cow! That scene is what the movie is all about. I was very angry and swore off of watching cut films.

I feel you, bro. Not that I’ve ever seen Overboard, but I did once sit ddown in front of a broadcast version of Amadeus, and the opening credits were immediately followed by a shot of Salieri in his spooky clothes knocking on Mozart’s door to commission the Requiem.

Grease is pretty shocking watching it DVD after seeing on broadcast for so many years.

I have a vague recollection that I’ve seen that scene before, but I am not certain…

Hmmm.

I see it every day. EVERY DAY, the SAME SCENE. IT NEVER CHANGES.

Enjoy,
Steven

TOLD ya – call me “Bronco.”

 Very good. One of those answers I wish I’d thought of!

Forgetting a scene in Groundhog Day? Reminds me of that Steven Wright joke:

“My friend and I drove across America. We only had one tape…I can’t remember what it was.”
