A serial murderer THIS bad I should remember.

No great point to make here, just some observations.

I have a weakness for true crime stories, and like to watch American Justice and read “People vs.” case reports in my firm’s law library. I was mature enough in the 70’s and 80’s to watch television news; how is it that I remember nothing about an atrocious serial murderer by the name of Randy Steven Kraft (People v. Kraft, 25 Cal.4th 978)? This creep, while holding the position of computer technician, killed at least 16 young men in the '70s and '80s. His MO was to pick up hitchhikers, often Californian Marines, and get them drunk and drugged before murdering them. And no one suspected him for 12 or 13 years! What gets me is how normal most serial murderers look and act, and what normal lives they usually live. Who knows how many more men he killed that have not been accounted for. BTW, he got the death penalty and the court in this case affirmed the lower court’s decision.

I’ve read a lot of gruesome crime stories, and have developed a strong stomach, but this one has left me a little queasy. Sorry, it was not my purpose here to share for shock purposes, but to kind of type it out of my system. No back roads for me on the commute home tonight.

It’s always us quiet ones you have to watch out for.

Wait … did I say us?

I’m a bit of a serial killer buff myself and I’ve never heard of him either. I guess he escaped the notice of the authors. Scary… and watch out for Euty!!

The thing that always shocks me is who turns out to be a pedophile.

Once, I was hanging outside the library with my friend Luke and a cheerleader friend of hers. My art techer from elementary teachers walks in. He looks a little nervous walking past us.

“That guy’s a pedophile,” says the cheerleader.

“I always thgouth he was just too nice,” I reply.

“No, I mean he really is a pedophile. One day he, like, asked me to meet him after school and he, like, starts touching me. There was a huge deal and he, like, almost , like, lost his job.”

[that was verbatim, mind you]

Mr. Morley, the guy who taught me how to draw kangaroos with extreme detail, was a pedophile. It’s always the nice ones you watch out for…

God…Spienne, that really creeps me out. I don’t know, its just so depressing, too. You think someone’s so nice and they go and do something like that…:frowning: Why did he almost lose his job? You’d think he’d actually be fired.

I don’t really know; he still works there. This cheerleader does have a habit of attracting older guys–last I heard she was dating a guy who’s about 25 and she’s 16. It still beats me as to why he still has a job.

Yeah, the nice one’s are just visious. Why once, one started touching me, then I shook his hand and he gave me my certificate (what’d you think he wa… YOU SICKOS)

                    :D:):D
