A serious question for Sam Stone on Factual Errors

I missed that one. Linky?

Yeah, I’m gonna do it…
Maybe his son wrote it.

I recall you were the first commenter about it. Not sure what thread it was.

Edit: Aha, right here.

Ah. I’d forgotten that one.

I seriously don’t see how, it’s almost board-epic. But so much bullshit, so little time.

Another classic is when he posted an article on Left Wing Violence because that’s what was in the title. The article concluded that while there has been a small uptick in left-wing violence there has been a much larger increase in right-wing violence that might be partially responsible for the left-wing violence. Furthermore, it concluded that right-wing violence is a much more serious problem in the USA.

It was a classic “I didn’t read this but it sure seems to support what I want to believe based on the title”.

I don’t remember what his excuse was afterwards.

Nevermind discourse

And one more thing:

While missing one of the more conspicuous cites from Reuters that pops up when doing a quick search for that alleged quote from Klaus Schwab, it shows that an effort was made alright, but an effort to avoid finding how wrong he was.

Sure, a search for "In the future you will have no privacy, and no property. And you will like it! Shows a lot of the conspiracy and right wing sites harping about it (one big clue that there was an echo chamber there), but adding “fact check” showed Wikipedia and Reuters reporting about the misleading copy paste the right wing and conspiracy sites were doing.

Since this is the pit: Let me search it for Sam.

Again, it should be noted that this article on a WEF site, far from being an endorsement of microchipping people, is largely negative on the subject and even mentions highly speculative claims about chip implantation being linked to cancer.

Hardly an example of the WEF pushing “dangerous ideas”.

Speaking of “weird” stuff coming from the “far right”, did Sam ever come up with documentation of his claim in the WEF thread that WEF conferences are marked by a big upsurge in prostitution activity in the host city? Do pedophile crimes and child abductions also soar whenever WEF elites come to town? That’d fit in nicely with what QAnon tells us. :exploding_head: :upside_down_face:

Maybe his Google search results are carefully curated to remove anything reasonable or sensible.

That’s impossible! His feeds are scientific!

It is kind of fascinating to watch unfold. It’s all there, written down, but he insists he was doing the exact opposite of what he actually did. You may be right, he actually believes it.

He has said multiple times some form of “it’s possible I may have gotten this wrong” re: the quote he attributed to Klaus, despite it being categorically demonstrated it is unambiguously false. He can’t seem to muster the plain words, “I was wrong.” Absolutely Trumpian.

Maybe he reads even his own writing as though it’s written in the Bible Code.

Honestly, just an incredible moment for this site that Sam managed to utter these two statements within 3 hours of each other.

Sam is widdle old innocent that has never actively looked for right wing content and it just keeps on gosh darn appearing in his feed where he has no choice but to consume and then actively spread it. At the same time, he’s consumed so much Richard Hanania content that it’s plausible to him that this would have been the source for his claim and, of course, Richard Hanania is a source of such impeccable acclaim with definitely no issues that it would be absurd to think that he could be flat out a lying right wing grifter and maybe it would be worthwhile to double check any claims that he makes.

The most tedious thing about this is, independent of Richard Hanania’s terrible right wing views, it’s also hard to convey just how tediously dumb Richard Hanania is and that, if you ever find yourself having consumed so much Richard Hanania content that it’s plausible one of your claims could have come from him, you should take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself what the fuck you’re doing with your life that this is what it’s become. But, of course, Sam won’t do that so he’ll continue endlessly clogging up the boards with his need for drama until some external force intervenes to end it.

So, ‘I don’t always consume right-wing media, but when I do I prefer American fascists!’?

Maybe he’s secretly the Fonz?

If so, he definitely jumped the shark a while ago.

That Onion thing is an absolute classic. It’s completely wild that any human being wouldn’t say, “Oh shit, that’s from the Onion! I really shouldn’t post before my first cup of coffee.”

You know, unless they were fucking with somebody.
