So, known troll Sam Stone has now been called out for hijacking (repeatedly) the Future EV plans thread, and is making every effort to hijack, edge case, and goalpost move in the thread about Canada reducing gas-based vehicles. Can some of you who keep smashing your heads against the troll flag some of the egregious efforts so that ESPECIALLY in light of What Exit telling him to stop in the other thread, that we can start the process of getting him a topic ban and hopefully eventual mod acknowledgement that his behavior is actual trolling?
Please? It’s all I want for my late Hanukah present!
I asked a question about how RWD Teslas handle in the snow and got a lecture on RWD vs FWD and a threadshit about how snow tires will reduce the efficiency. Nothing that addressed my question, just another hijack. I let it go until he started another hijack when he responded to Puzzlegal’s post about PHEVs. His reply quickly segued into yet another hijack about how EVs (or PHEVs) won’t work in Canada. That’s when I reported him and the thread was split.
So, yes, keep reporting as I have to assume until he ends up with a thread or topic (or site) ban, it’s just going to continue.
I’m still waiting for him to reply to my request for any facts to back up one of the most sexist/racist/partisan/petty/ignorant accusations I’ve seen here…
If Harris had come out of nowhere to be added as VP then I’d say maybe there was a whiff of plausibility to the claim. After all, Sarah Palin was put on the ticket with McCain because she was a relatively young female former beauty queen. It wasn’t due to political qualifications or name recognition. She was governor of Alaska and seemed to come out of nowhere.
Harris was one of the more prominent primary opponents before Biden gained the nomination and her progressive policies were a good contrast to his more centrist platform. Her race and gender were secondary to all that.
I can understand thinking that she was picked for demographic reasons because she does check a number of boxes in a similar fashion as Palin before her, but you’d have to be extremely ignorant of everything that happened in the primary to draw such a conclusion.
“If I’m elected president, my — my cabinet, my administration will look like the country,” Biden said in response to a question about how a Biden administration would handle women’s issues. “And I commit that I will, in fact, appoint a — I’ll pick a woman to be vice president. There are a number of women who are qualified to be president tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be my vice president.”
Biden told MSNBC’s Joy Reid on the premiere of her prime-time show, “The ReidOut,” however, that he would not guarantee that a Black woman will be his running mate.
“I am not committed to naming any but the people I’ve named, and among them are four Black women,” Biden said.
Now, it’s true that he was pressured to pick a Black woman, and that undoubtedly influenced his decision.
But to say he only considered a Black woman is not backed up by his public statements, and he never said he was limiting his choice to Black women. In fact, he said the opposite.
I’ll give you credit for being close at least, and I really don’t blame you for misremembering (seriously, I really don’t), but it’s not accurate to say he either announced ahead of time that his VP would only be a Black woman, or that she was chosen solely for demographics.
The thing is, the EV edge cases he’s blathering on about have been addressed over and over and over again in multiple threads spanning years. Yet he still goes to the well with the same garbage. You’d think that everyone in Alberta drives a massive truck 500km to a workplace with no electricity. In the snow. Uphill both ways.
You’d think that every EV requires 80 amp service in your house. It does not. He’s been told this over and over and over for years. Yet its back to the well with the same crap.
He knows that he’s pushing bullshit edge cases. He keeps doing it over and over and over.
He either has the memory of a goldfish, or is trolling. Pick one.
