A silly poll

Without looking at the results or any replies, vote on the number you think the least number of other people have voted on. Then, post in the replies whether you were successful or not.

Technically successful, because I picked one of the eight numbers that had not yet been voted on.

I’m the first ten.

Evidently the first vote for number four.

I picked 4 too. Nobody’s picked 6 or 8 yet.

I picked 10, and lost. Still no 6.

First 6!

:frowning: The numbers that are rare are precisely the ones I would have thought everyone would have picked.

I voted 2 and the results shows 5 others ahead of me had voted for that. It had the most votes along with 1.

Two numbers were lower than 7 when I picked it, four were higher. So not too bad.

Only 8, with 2 votes, was lower than 10, with four when I posted it.

I picked 9. Apparently, I couldn’t have chosen worse.

I picked 1, an equally horrible pick.

I chose two and my line of thinking was probably like everyone else’s:

1 is an easy number to pick and if you don’t pick 1, I assume you’ll at least skip a few number to choose a new number. So I went with the number directly after 1 assuming it would get passed up.

I picked 4. Currently in second place with 9 votes. :o

First I reasoned that numbers like 3, 5, and 7 would be the most likely to come up at first thought. Therefore I should avoid them. But naturally, everyone else would likely employ the same reasoning, so 3, 5, and 7 are precisely what I should choose from! Ah, but surely others would come to that conclusion as well. Those numbers are not safe. So I picked 4.

At least eight other people felt the same way, apparently.

I picked 9, which (at the time) was tied for 2nd. I suck at Feud, too.

Oh! You said FEWEST votes. I picked 9.

I voted for 7, because studies show most people will say 7 if you ask them to pick a number from 1 to 10, so I figured most people would know that and not pick 7- a little reverse psychology. I was wrong.

Awesome! I picked 8 and was right!

ETA: Looking more closely, it was a three-way ties between 5, 6, and 8. But still…

I deliberately broke the rules and then picked the number the most people had voted on, because I am a strange duck.
