A small thing that has made me happy

I have a pretty stressful job. I run the IT department for one of the business units of a huge steel manufacturing company.

It has become increasingly stressful to the point that every morning I have to find reasons to go to work. It’s time for a holiday! So when MaxBabe’s sisters decided that they should all have a gathering in Melbourne, my little eyes lit up.

“We’re going to Melbourne!” she exclaimed, a smile on her face. “W00t!”, thought I.

With all the travel I do for work, I’ve racked up quite a few frequent flyer points. I’ve booked return flights for me and MaxBabe, and all I’ve had to pay is around $50 in airport tax. Bear in mind this would otherwise cost me around $700.

MaxBabe’s sisters have arranged for us to stay in cabins out in the country. I anticipate there will be log fires and many opportunities for canoodling.

For the nights that we’ll be in Melbourne city, I’ve booked rooms in swanky hotels, and it’s cost me less than $200.

And, on the day we return to Brisbane, we’ll have lots of time for touristy stuff. Top of the list is visiting the Melbourne Aquarium.

In case you haven’t realised, this makes me very happy! A nice holiday, staying in cabins built for canoodling, and swanky hotels, going to see aquariums… FOR LESS THAN $300!!!
I am so fucking happy about this development, I could burst!

And I had thought that steel manufacturing had basically migrated to the “Asian Tiger” nations, Brazil, and other developing nations…

When Ozzies do the Happy Dance, is it with a rhythm or direction of rotation opposite of Happy Dances in the Northern Hemisphere?

Congrats on your impending mini-holiday. Have a safe trip!

Well, let me just say that this particular steel company is making lots of inroads in many new markets - Asia is one of our growing markets.

Hee hee! Think Riki Lake, while hollering “you liddle bewdy!”

Max.
